I will start with the fact I am a property manager in another city and I know not everything will always be perfect. The good: Cute cottage close to everything The neighbor feeds the deer so they are always around Spacious The glow of the ski slopes was really cool at night The bad: Smoke - the chimney likely needs to be cleaned. A few logs would cause the entire place to fill with smoke. We were excited to use the fireplace but it wasn't usable. Everything we brought had to be washed. Condition - the cabin hasn't been updated in a few dozen years. Normal cooking items and what not. Management company - A heavy snow fall occurred during our visit. I called Sunday morning to see what the plan would be to plow our driveway so we would not be stuck. I got a call later that day that we are on the list and someone would plow soon. I was close to the end of the driveway, pulled out and got stuck. No plow arrived Sunday. Called again Monday, told the same. No plow but was told we could stay another night at the full rate. That was so kind of them as we were starting to distress. By Monday evening we realized we had to dig ourselves out with the one small snow shovel provided. We got one car out, flagged down a tow truck and got the other car towed up to the more clear street. It was disappointing to be lied to and have the management company not care that we were running out of food and medicine but more than happy to bill us to stay longer when we couldn't leave. We didn't want to stay any longer. All in all, I wouldn't book here again and would love an apology from management but just got a follow up call to pay the extra night fee. I asked for a manager to call but haven't received anything back.

This is a nice cabin in a great location. Plenty of room for a family of four. The weather was freezing but it was nice and cozy inside. The kitchen is pretty small and tight but hey it’s a cabin. As other reviews have mentioned, it is in need of some updating. In particular, the couches in the living room are something that I would be ashamed of bringing to Goodwill to donate. They should go straight to a landfill. I’m also glad I had the foresight to bring my own paper towels and TP. For a four night’s stay, we were set up with one roll of one ply in each bathroom and one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. I will say I had a couple of questions prior to the stay and the mgmt company was very friendly and responsive. Overall, I would recommend if you can overlook these shortcomings.

What a wonderful property! There were 4 adults staying in the cabin for a long weekend. Plenty of room for all, the two king beds were perfect. The cabin was super cozy, clean, well stocked for our needs. The firepit was awesome. But, the best part was the beautiful trees and all of the deer. Such a great experience.

Enjoyed the stay. Only problem was that we did not have enough towels and washcloths for the group. Extra toilet paper would have been nice to have.

Exceptional stay at Benzine Farm in Beech Mountain. Cabin was clean, organized, and well stocked. Indoor and outdoor areas were both well cared for, and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We went hiking each day on nearby trails and saw beautiful rivers/waterfalls. Things we loved about the property: - Three bedrooms plus a full loft providing ample sleeping space. There would be plenty of room for 4 couples (8 adults) to sleep comfortably. - Cabin was well stocked with supplies and activities. The outdoor firepit had plenty of dry firewood stashed under the deck, and the cornhole and horseshoe pit activities were in great shape. Bath towels were high quality and plentiful. Cleaning service provided a generous starter set of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. - Great location. Cabin is located in a neighborhood but sits on a private, heavily wooded lot (approximately 3/4 acre). Homes are spaced well apart, which provides plenty of privacy and a sense of solitude. However, it's also a quick 20 minute drive to the grocery store, and the cabin is even closer to a few restaurants and other supplies. - Plenty of wildlife. We saw tons of deer (including bucks) during our stay. The deer are obviously comfortable with people, and many would not move until you approached within 3 feet of them. - Strong wifi and cell signals. Wifi in the house was very strong, and it was even sufficient to support video streaming when seated around the outdoor firepit. Cell signals were also strong in the area. I went on a 2+ mile run around the neighborhood, and my GPS never lost connectivity. - Close to outdoor activities. We went hiking each day on nearby trails. The trailhead for the Lower Pond Creek Trail is located just a 5-minute drive from the cabin and offers amazing views of the creek, including some small waterfalls. Other trails are located a short (30-minute) drive away, including the Elk River Falls Trail, Jones Falls Trail, and Splash Dam Falls Trail. Areas for potential improvement: - Kitchen was relatively small. It was fine for three adults but might be challenging for larger groups. In particular, there was no pantry, so we had to place dry goods above the fridge or in the dining area. - Electronic key entry was located only on the 1st floor door. There was also a ground floor door that was convenient from bringing in luggage, but you could access that door only with a hardcopy key.

Incredible experience!!! Excellent communication and information offered from host. The home is in an excellent area, surrounded by nature and wildlife, our kids and us had a wonderful time. A lot of deer and other wildlife can be seeing at almost all times during the day. Very relaxing time and home situated next to a little creek.

We were greeted daily by the neighborhood deer which were awesome to see. Neighborhood park and trail was nice when you wanted to get out of the house but not leave the mountain. Property is very spacious and perfect for multi-family or large families. Downstairs Master Bed, Bathroom, and Den are completely secluded. Upstairs loft and mini bathroom was super cute and comfortable. The interior has not been painted in years and it is clearly evident. There were typical dirt/grime marks on the doors, railing, backsplashes, and walls. Kitchen should have been cleaner. $500.00 of paint touch ups on interior, upholstery cleaner on the couch, freshen up the information binder and some new pots and pans and this place would be top notch. Wifi & Cell service in the house very intermittent.
