Stayed Aug 24, 2025The space and layout of the house is amazing. Very good for a larger family of 6 adults. The dining room view was very beautiful. The whole house is very well presented and offers great natural light throughout the house. The swimming pool and outside area is fabulous. Our favourite place to be. Great hot tub and my daughter loved the swing seat in the garden nook The bedrooms were a good size and the beds are very comfortable. The modern decor throughout the house is very nice. Downstairs bedroom was perfect for my daughter.and has a lovely view from the French doors. We loved this house so much we have already booked it for next year! The gymn wasn't available as there was a notice saying don't open doors. Parking is a nightmare due to steep driveway and it was hard to manoeuvre 2 cars in the steep space let alone the 4 cars you recommend. Parking was also made difficult due to the gates, it would be better to remove the gates to enable easier access. The gates opened out onto the pavement so we often had to close the gate whilst we were trying to drive in and out due to people walking past. Outside toilet unfinished in decor and has a very bad leak.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house was well equipped and a good size for the 5 adults & 2 children in our group. The location was great for getting around the island. The pool, gym and hot tub were a brilliant asset and we were able to use the pool & hot tub daily as the pool was heated. The outdoor spaces need some tidying up, weeding on the patio, new pool cover, the safety gate ought to be at the top of the steps not bottom, there was no parasol /shade for the table and the outside lights didn’t work. Inside the downstairs bedroom had no storage, the steps to the utility were a worry, especially as they’re so near the dining table. The gates into the property could do with being automatic slide gates, it’s a dangerous place to stop, get out, open the gates and pull into the drive near a busy junction. With a little attention the property can be brought back up to a great spec. However, none of this stopped us from having a fantastic memorable break.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is a lovely house with a great garden in a residential area. It is great for an extended family holiday. The downstairs bedroom (which is a small double room and doesn’t have any wardrobes but is pleasant and has doors opening on to the terrace) is next to a shower room and there are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped with large pans, plenty of utensils and plates/cutlery and the fridge has an ice machine and water feature in the door. There is a well equipped utility room also with a washer and dryer. There are small supermarkets within a few minutes walk and you can walk to the main shops in Rydethe seafront in around 15 minutes (or cycle and continue along the coast). Our experience of booking with the Island Holiday Company has been great. We would love to return to this property. Lovely places to visit nearby. We recommend Quarr Abbey, guided tours around Briddlesford Lodge Farm, walking from the house to Ryde seafront along Appley beach to Seaview (with great views across to Portsmouth), Ventnor, Shanklin, boat trips to the Needles from Alum Bay, and the Dinosaur Museum.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969After a friend recommended this property, and the area, I was delighted I managed to book the house last minute for a few days at the end of the school hols. The house was ideal for a family break with grandchildren, who all loved the pool, and there was so much to do for children on the Isle of Wight. Excellent service from The Island Holiday Company, who were very helpful with my last minute enquiries, and when we needed to change the time of our return ferry.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely house, outside space, pool and hot tub. Lacking some essential kitchen items such as more baking trays, larger glasses and really needs some plastic cups/plates for younger children. Also needs more coat hangers for a house that is suitable for up to 8 people. Only found 5. Couldn’t find the BBQ which is mentioned in the on-site folder so not sure where that is housed. The pool was lovely but a tad on the cold side which made entering the pool quite challenging for the smaller children. Could be turned up a notch but otherwise nice and clean. The beds were very comfy and slept really well all week.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a very enjoyable week staying here. Location is ok - easy to access the town and local beaches which are great, but accessing the driveway from the main road is tricky due to tight gateways and lack of dropped kerb. We had a lovely takeaway from the local Thai. The house has good outdoor space with huge patio area which allows the children some freedom to play, although it would have benefitted from a parasol for the table. The bedrooms were comfortable and everywhere was nice and clean. Great laundry facilities although we couldn't find any pegs! There are TVs in every room although none are smart which is unusual for such a modern house. The internet was relatively fast and reliable though. We made good use of the pool however it really needs to be heated to a couple of degrees warmer as the children got cold quite quickly. The hot tub was enjoyed by all but no sign of it having been attended to during our stay as promised in the welcome pack. The gym fell short with listed equipment missing or not working so unfortunately we didn't use it as anticipated. Altogether, a great week had but with some small alterations/additions, this could be an amazing holiday property.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property was really modern, very well maintained and provided a great, comfortable family space. The location was spot on too - literally a 5 minute drive down the road and we were on the seafront with plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. It was always the outside space that attracted us to booking No 1 Ashey and the reality did not disappoint at all. The swimming pool was stunning - very private with mature trees and bushes - and the water stayed at a good temperature regardless of the unreliable summer weather! My 10 year old son played in it for hours. I’m really missing the pool view from my kitchen window now we’re home! We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for top end accommodation with fabulous facilities that’s close to local attractions and amenities.
