Had a lovely weekend in the Muntjak lodge. We didn't have the best weather but the lodge was lovely and it was so peaceful with the views over the lake. The walk to the lodge from the car was not too long and the trolley was a nice touch so as not to have to do multiple trips to the car but it was difficult to drag across the gravel paths. The welcome hamper for both ourselves and the dog was a nice touch and she loved them. We did struggle with the dog proofing around the property as she is only a small dog so could fit underneath the lowest wire so we needed to keep her on her lead when on the decking areas.Otherwise we had a lovely time and will definitely be back.

The accommodation was immaculate, and would have been almost perfect except for the “dog proofing” on the terrace. We have a Chihuahua and a French Bulldog. The dog proofing was fine for the frenchie, however unfortunately was not good enough to stop the Chihuahua from escaping, fortunately he was quickly caught. He is large for a Chihuahua, and so I feel that many small dogs would be able to escape. This meant that in order to let him out on the terrace we had to put on his lead and harness, which was not ideal. Also this lodge went into the shade much more quickly than the other lodges, meaning time in the sunlight was limited. These are the reasons for the average score for facilities
