The Space:

Welcome to Plumas Chalet



Welcome toour cute A-frame, the Plumas Chalet—a cozy and inviting space perfect for a relaxing mountain getaway.



Parking is available in one of the spots around the chalet, and there is also room for trailer parking if needed. Once upstairs, please locate the lockbox to the left of the front door. Your code will be provided prior to check-in.



Great Room & Living Space



As you enter the great room, you’ll find a comfortable living area with an electric fireplace and a TV with Roku—perfect for winding down after a day at the lake or exploring the area. Please bring your login information and passwords for Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, or any other streaming services you enjoy.



Starlink is the internet provider for the home.



There is also a cozy dining area with a small table and chairs, along with bar seating connected to the kitchen counter—great for casual meals, coffee, or conversation.



Kitchen



The kitchen is fully stocked and includes a full-size stove, oven, and refrigerator. You’ll also find a microwave and toaster on the counter for convenience. Please note that there is no dishwasher.



Bathroom



The bathroom includes a tub/shower combination, and towels are provided for your stay.



Bedrooms & Loft



On the main level, there is a bedroom with a queen bed, along with a small TV and Roku for added comfort.



Steep stairs take you up to the second story, where you’ll find an open loft area with a twin bed, as well as a separate bedroom with a full-size bed. A custom door with a privacy lock has been installed for 2026.



Because of the steep stairs and open loft design, please make sure children are supervised when using the stairs and while upstairs.



Laundry & Garage Access



The washer and dryer are located in the garage and can be accessed using the garage door opener mounted upstairs near the front door. Please be sure to keep the garage door closed at all times to prevent wildlife from moving in.



Lake Access



Please note that a boat slip is not provided for the Plumas Chalet. However, access to the beach area is included in your stay and is located at the bottom of Lakeside Drive, just a short distance away.



Things You May Want to Bring



To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, you may want to bring:



Extra toilet paper and paper towels depending on the length of your stay

Weather-appropriate clothing, as nights can be cool

Slippers or socks, as the flooring can sometimes be a bit dusty

Your streaming logins and passwords (Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc.)

Any miscellaneous items that may have been used up by previous guests (foil, condiments, napkins, etc.)



A Note About Our Natural Setting



Please understand that we are located in a rural mountain area, with the lake just 300 feet away. With that comes the opportunity to experience nature up close.



During your stay, you may see or encounter wildlife in or around the home and neighborhood, including—but not limited to—deer, raccoons, birds, bees, wasps, mosquitoes, spiders, and ants. The peninsula is also home to a neighborhood bear who has not bothered anyone but does enjoy raiding unsecured garbage cans.



We are unable to control Mother Nature, and therefore cannot offer refunds if wildlife is encountered during your stay.



We hope you enjoy the cozy charm, unique character, and peaceful setting of Plumas Chalet—it’s a special place to relax, unwind, and enjoy everything the lake and mountains have to offer.



Guest Access:

You're welcome to enjoy the lakefront, and the lawn, all thanks to the HOA. Feel free to use the association beach area during the day. There's a washer and dryer in the garage for your convenience. Just a heads up, the garage is used by the owner for storage, so it's not available for parking.



The Neighborhood:

Explore the local area! You're just a short drive from the Peninsula Market and the Holiday Market in Chester, both less than 10 miles away. For boating enthusiasts, Knotty Pine and Big Cove offer boat launches and rentals for a small fee. Outdoor adventurers will love the proximity to Mount Lassen, with its abundant hiking and biking trails, as well as opportunities for watersports. During the winter months, enjoy various winter sports options, including a ski resort with a tow rope operated by the local college.



Getting Around:

Due to our remote location in Lake Almanor, California (454 Peninsula Drive, 96137), public transportation is extremely limited. We recommend guests arrange for their own transportation. Parking is available on the driveway, and in designated spots. The nearest major airports are a considerable distance away, so please plan your travel accordingly.



Other Things to Note:

Please note: This property is a non-smoking and pet-free environment. A Weber BBQ is provided. Please bring charcoal and lighter fluid. A boat slip is not included with this rental.
