Great location. Easy parking. Deer come right up to deck.
The beds were comfy and the cottage was very cozy. The kitchen was well-stocked. We loved that we were able to take our dogs too.
Great cabin, location was great. Fully equipped.
Overall, we enjoyed our trip. The location of rhe house is literally up the mountain, so be cautious if you don't prefer this type of adventure. The space in the house was ideal for our larger family of 5 and furry friend. The decks/patios all had gates that closed to prevent your kids or animals from escaping. Fireplace was a great addition since it did get quite chilly at night that high up in the mountains. The property was very nice and had a rustic feeling to it. Taking your puppies out to do their busniess was a breeze too. The back door/patio was adjacent to level ground. We saw lots of deer and even a BEAR! It was a wild experience. There is a little mountain town (Beech Mountian) near the house with a general store, and a handful of restaurants. It was convenient if you didnt want to drive down the mtn to downtown Banner Elk. The only drawback for us was the cleanliness of the home. The management did reach out about this and offered to have the cleaning people come back - but we turned them down since our dog was there and we didnt want to take the chance of Strangers entering the house when we were not there. So we just tidyed up what we felt was necessary and moved on with our vacation.
We had a wonderful stay! The cabin is in a nice area surrounded by trees. We saw deer everyday. Our dog could go out on the deck and it’s gated which was really nice. Their bedding is high quality! We will visit again.
Quiet neighborhood. Sitting on the front porch with my puppy, watching the deer come right up to the porch was quite an experience. I do love that the deck had gates that you could close off so that the puppy could sit out there with us and I didn’t have to worry about him wondering off. I don’t know how easy it would be to get up there during the winter months but during the summer it was quite beautiful, peaceful and we really enjoyed our stay.
Accommodations were great for our family get away. Location is super convenient to Beech Mountain, Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, & Grandfather Mtn. Lots of adventures to experience & enjoy. Elevation of cabin provides for cool evenings and mornings, gas fireplace is both practical & comforting. Would definitely stay here again.
The house itself was very nice, however there was no running water when we arrived and it didn’t come back on. We found out that the issue had been reported before we began our stay and we were never notified of it. We left early and I still have not heard back from Vacasa about a refund. Customer service representative could not confirm I would get a refund even though the house was not livable without water (nothing to drink, clean, no working toilets, etc) Have called several times and still waiting to hear back on the status of the refund.
The location of this lodge was wonderful. 5 minutes from the nearest town which does have a small grocery. 20 minutes from sugar mountain which has a Food Lion. The accommodations were quite lovely in terms of amenities. Three bedrooms, 4 beds perfect for a family of 5. Fully equipped kitchen when lots of gadgets. Smart tvs in the living room and bedrooms. The cleanliness was a little overlooked. The sheets were laundered and in separate bags for us to put on the beds which was no problem. However the pillows were stained. We actually brought our own pillows, otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to sleep on the pillows provided. There was a used towel hanging on the back of the upstairs bathroom door. There was dirt and small trash in corners behind doors. The carpet needs replacing but it seemed clean. Overall the lodging was acceptably clean but I was disappointed at the small details that were overlooked. Quick caution about staying here during bad snow storms: the side road that the lodging is on is steep and more than likely won't be salted or plowed like the main road. I do not have four wheel drive on my vehicle and had to be towed to the top of the hill where it meets the main road. All in all the accommodations were great and so much better than staying in a hotel. And it was wonderful being able to bring our dogs as well.
House was convenient to ski slopes. I arrived early and hung in driveway to do a work call before our 4:00 check in. Prop mgr came by about 1:45. House had not been cleaned. Cleaning person finally came about 330. Felt bad - it was her 5th house that day. House want ready until about 5. This is my second time renting thru Vacasa. Poor experience then as well.
This trip was a spur of the moment idea and I was very happy to find a cabin so close to Beech. I LOVED waking up and seeing deer everywhere. The house was very comfortable and relaxing. The only thing that I think could have been done before we arrived was to shovel the snow and ice off the stops, besides that we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the stay.
