Stayed Aug 6, 2021This property is expensive so we were expecting a beautiful and clean chalet. It is old, dusty, and quite dirty. It needs to be upgraded, there is only so much you can do to clean a fabric couch that looks like it has been there for decades. We were looking forward to sitting on the deck but the plastic chairs were uncomfortable and a couple were broken. The location is nice but not worth the price. We were very disappointed.

Stayed Feb 19, 2016The home provides your basic necessities and a home away from home kind of feeling. It's clean, well-maintained, and also has the ability to sleep more people than noted.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed here over the President's day weekend and absolutely loved it. It's an ideal location: right next to the main lodge and great sledding. It was very comfortable and very neat, and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Love the wilderness cabin feel of the chalet. Rustic but comfortable. Nice front porch to relax and read. We walked to main lodge for breakfast and the adventure center to rent mt bikes and take the gondola up. Great alternative to all the condos in town.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed here for Thanksgiving and it couldn't have been better! The location is second to none, you can't beat the views and proximity to lifts, especially with little ones. Our boys simply can't get enough of Mammoth, and it's an easy walk (or ski) right to the lifts. No need to wait in line and spend $$ for lunch on the hill, it's easy to ski right back to chalet 6 and enjoy lunch on the deck. Chalet 6 is cozy, we've been in both the summer and the winter and continue to return every year. We're looking forward to another trip this month!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969After searching for our next summer trip, we emailed the Chalets and got a quick response from Romie. A few questions later, we were booked. The Chalets are smack in the middle of some of the greatest hiking and sightseeing around. With town just a 5 minute drive away, we could pick up supplies as we needed and still feel like we were in the middle of mother nature. Driving from the Bay Area, the extra 90 minutes or so to get there was well worth it. (Sorry Tahoe lovers, but the insane views and trails in the Eastern Sierras are tops in my book any day of the week. 25 years experience saying that) If your on a plant based diet, vegans have some great options for groceries, pizza (always important) and the Stellar Brew and Café rocked a tasty vegan wrap and baked goods. We also have a small pooch and let me say, this whole area is very pet friendly. (crazy important for us) All the trails we went on allowed dogs on leash. Even on the local shuttle bus (with muzzle) to the Devils Postpile Monument. How cool is that?? Romie and Kris were terrific in helping us decide our various hikes and drives. And gladly put up with tons of questions. We have to say that if your planning a vacation, having people that care and know the area well is a huge benefit-A BIG plus for staying here. When a small issue came up with our chalet, Kris was right there to remedy the situation fast. And our vacation continued without skipping a beat. Spending a full week at the Mammoth Mountain Chalets was a blast, but it went by way too fast. We plan to remedy this issue by another stay sometime soon! Thanks Romie and Kris for making our stay one we will never forget. # An extra 2 hour drive from the Bay Area vs. Tahoe (the length of a movie for goodness sake) is nothing compared to the beauty of this region. # Super pet friendly unlike other areas. # Food is a little more pricey here, so pack along your “must haves” and the occasional run to the store is a little more bearable. (we tend to buy from local owned stores-But there is a Vons in town too) # Each chalet is individually owned. So some amenities may differ from unit to unit. However we loved the fact we had our own home with four walls and not stuck in some hotel with others right next to you. Made you feel much more relaxed and at home. # Bring binoculars as some of the best views are right nearby. # While we love the outdoors, but the included Wifi, a hot shower and favorite chilled drinks was terrific.
