5BR Private Chalet in Forested Ridge - Deep Creek Lake

Beautiful wooded location, private and quiet with anything you could think of needing. Hot tub, firepit, grill, games galore, cozy fireplace, wrap-around deck, and a trail to the lake.

Our small group of friends had a wonderful time. We made a Christmas dinner and found nearly every utensil and appliance needed. The views were great, and we loved the privacy. Plenty of sleeping surfaces, and everything nice and clean. Will stay again!

Wonderfully private location, Had a great weekend with family!! Property was clean and well maintained, and just a short drive to the heart of downtown DeepCreek. 2 small issues.. Sliding glass door on bottom level was impossibly hard to pull open or closed and some broken chairs around firepit, but we all brought camp chairs with us though, so it was a non issue.. Would definately return! The property manager was so nice to deal with, we had many questions and they were answered promptly.

This was the message I sent to the owners to communicate some of the areas we thought should be addressed. For the price, it definitely wasn’t up to par. My message went unanswered... Hello! We just checked out this morning and wanted to touch base on the property. I know you said you have a company handling the rental for you, so I wanted to reach out directly instead of leaving a review. We loved the privacy of your place and the amount of space it provided; however, we were disappointed in a few things and thought some others needed brought to your attention. First, I think it should be clear that there is no air conditioning in the unit. That was quite surprising to find when we arrived. I think most people would make that assumption, and it’s not clear in the listing that it’s not available. We were disappointed with the condition of some things, too. I’m not sure if it’s something the rental company should be handling for you, so wanted to mention. (I have photos if you’d like.) The decks could use some love. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures and leaves piles everywhere. It doesn’t look like it’s been swept in awhile. The small storage cubby is just piled with leaves. There’s a molded cooler left on the deck that has beer inside dated 4 years ago! And under the decks, when you walk the property, there are chairs thrown, broken screens, etc. It doesn’t highlight the positives the house has going. Inside, there’s a slow drip at the kitchen sink, there was a toilet paper holder missing from the wall of the upstairs bathroom (and the drywall dust is still sitting all over the baseboards- not really making us feel like the house is being cleaned well!), many large ants in the kitchen and bathrooms, tape on walls, cobwebs on light fixtures, etc. We’re really not fussy people and travel often. We were still able to enjoy the area as a family, but I was definitely disappointed in the condition of the things mentioned. We work hard to take trips and this one fell short a bit. This is an older house; we were pleased with cleanliness inside the house and appreciated that. The furnishings were fine but we all had some issues listed below. We felt that for the price charged, these smaller but important things could have been better: - Pillows were terrible. Need better pillows on the beds. - No king bed; at least one king bed should be in a rental home main bedroom. -Bath on main floor lacked towel rack, toilet paper holder. We were unable to get the water faucet to switch to shower head. - Paper towels & all toilet paper were a very cheap brand. Certainly higher quality should be offered. - Front porch, back porch & deck should be cleaned of moss and dirt, wood terribly old and needs treatment. - Each bed should have at least a small bedside table with a light, a place to put an iPhone or other small essentials. There were other minor things that could be spiffed up in the house, even for an older house that is near a nice resort area like Deep Creek.

Everything was perfect. Lovely house. Close to evrything. We will come back again. Thanks for putting the grill out in the winter for us.

The property was great for our needs. Outside of the grill and toaster the property was clean. There were enough beds and space for our group of nine. There was also enough parking for everyone.The property is in close proximity of deep creek lake. The pictures did make it seem as though the property was on the water but it was tucked away in the woods. That was a bit sadden but overall this property is great. The owners did a great job with having enough fans, space, blankets, games, etc. We all would definitely stay again.
