Yannon Towers is a fantastic listed castle/folly is said to be styled on Balmoral and now provides a unique holiday experience for our guests - many of whom are now returning on a regular basis! The house is full of historical features including a stone spiral staircase and wood panelled walls and fire surrounds. Vivien Liegh was a regular house guest here and it has been said that she particularly liked the huge sweeping staircase which runs from the first to ground floor. Here you really can experience that taste of grandeur!
Once inside you can enjoy outstanding sea and estuary views from every window. The tower room with its four poster bed is a real treat to wake up in - especially on a beautiful sunny day. The house is just short walk from Teignmouth town centre and sea front and has easy driving access to Dawlish, Shaldon, Torquay, Dartmoor and Exeter plus many other South Devon attractions.
The property has plenty of space with 5 large bedrooms, 3 double and 2 twin beds. There are two bathrooms plus a unique downstairs toilet! The lounge / diner has ample space and comfy seating where you can relax and enjoy the sea views or have fun playing one of the many games provided - including a few murder mysteries! The kitchen and bathrooms are all modern whilst retaining their character And the property itself retains many of it’s original features. There is a large garden with outdoor seating and ample parking for up to four cars on site, plus off site road parking.

Yannon Towers really is a delightful and unique place to stay.

We are continuously looking at ways to further develop this luxury accommodation and always welcome comments and suggestions from our guests!

A stunning, unique, historic property with amazing views, in a charming traditional seaside town. Plenty of fascinating places to visit within an hour’s drive and lovely to also enjoy the town, back river beach, promenade and long, sandy beach.

I found Jenny very responsive to any questions asked, even on day of arrival we enjoyed a good journey down to Teignmouth so much so arrived early. Phoned Jenny and asked could we check in early. Nothing to much trouble for Jenny, excellent host. Would fully recommend staying in this property.

This is a remarkable property, with its breathtaking tower and stunning views. The castle and facilities overall were comfortable, though we found the house cold and the heating somewhat tricky. It would have been helpful if the owners could have met us when we arrived and explained some of the idiosyncrasies of this mid-19th century building.

Fabulous building with great history. Awesome views from every window. Doesn't take long to walk to Teignmouth and the beach, a fabulous little town. Youngs ones walked back up but us old un's (70's) got a taxi back (very reasonable) It was great to leave the car and walk even to Shaldon via the ferry. Fabulous pubs and eateries. All in all a wonderful holiday.

I am totally in love with this property - it is just fabulous. So many original features, fantastic views and in a lovely part of Devon. This impressive house sits on the top of a hill overlooking Teignmouth and Shaldon, so during the day you can see the sea over to the left and the boats moored up in the estuary below. At night, you can see the coastline lit up by the towns of Teignmouth and Shaldon. During our stay, we caught the small ferry over to Shaldon and had lunch at The Ness, which is a really beautiful restaurant and then walked through the smugglers tunnel to Ness Cove Beach, which was spectacular. We also sat and had a few drinks at the Ship Inn in Teignmouth and had lunch nextdoor at the Crab Shack, both of which I would thoroughly recommend. If you feel like some fish and chips, then i would recommend Finn McCools, which is on the sea front. The town of Teignmouth is fairly small and quiet but there are plenty of places to eat, listen to live music and have a few drinks.

Stunning views from this ‘castle’ folly. Great for families with plenty of space to escape each other, well equipped. Location on a hill means steep climb back up from town so ended up using our cars more than we would have liked.

A wonderful quirky place for a long weekend birthday party. Everything we expected was in place complete with piping hot radiators for our February stay.

Take friends/family and enjoy. The building has history and is certainly quirky. The views of Teignmouth are spectacular and the walk back from town, good exercise. Don’t expect perfect decor but is suits the house. We had a fantastic time.
