We chose this house specifically because it advertised a hot tub. We were surprised when we arrived and found only concrete blocks and no hot tub. While the hot tub may have been damaged during the recent storms, the site should tell folks that there is no hot tub. The house itself was fine; it was a little small. Biggest issue I had was that there were dead bugs and a lot of spider webs in the corners of the home and on the upper part of the walls. Also, there are gaps in the supporting beams and several times beetles just dropped from those gaps onto the floor. One even dropped onto my pillow. I am not squeamish but it was pretty gross. The house did have everything we needed for our stay and it was nice to have a washer and dryer available. It was also nice being able to bring our dog. The house is on one of the main streets in Truckee, but it was quiet at night. Would have liked to have sat outside on the front deck in the morning but the traffic noise was too much. Overall, the house served our purposes but it was not great. Very disappointed we were not told about the hot tub.
A really nice home with a lot of extra amenities that I feel are harder to come by these days. Very family friendly too, for our toddler. We'd love to stay there again.
Wonderful property! Great location, clean home, just as described. Outfitted top notch! We will be back.
Checking in was a breeze. Avant Stay, property management co, had lots of goodies, to welcome us including a bottle of wine. Property has a beautiful backyard with sitout, bbq and jacuzzi, playground for little kids. interiors is well maintained and clean. Overall, great place to spend the weekend with family, close to Tahoe Donner rec center.
Bathroom downstairs was dirty, I had to clean it y self, and lots of black ants; my daughter was bitten by those ants she didn’t like that she did not wanted to stay there anymore.
This house is great. There’s 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a futon + an office set up. The hot tub seems very new and was really nice, along with the lovely back yard and patio furniture. There was a welcome package with wine, toiletries, and coffee. Avantstay was very communicative. The house is a short drive from downtown truckee. Definitely recommend staying here.
The property was clean, well appointed and had good amenities. I would recommend it for 2 couples, 3 would be a little cramped. The parking situation was a challenge though. The main road is very busy and you are blind pulling a car out. You need to have someone stop traffic to pull a car out onto the main road. Also, there was ice on the the incline to the drive and we had to block the wheels with firewood as the car kept sliding backwards. Beyond that, it was a nice property.
This house was gorgeous, really glean, and really peaceful. It was great to be able to bring our dogs up with us this time . The hot tub in the back yard in the woods was awesome! It was a great place to have our babymoon after a year at home!
Evryhing we needed, very clean and comfortable.
We stayed there for a month with our two dogs. Overall the place is great. The cabin itself is not swanky/fancy/new per se, but it's really nice and feels like a family getaway. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to make our meals. The location is good overall: easy access to Donner Lake, hiking trails, etc etc. It is worth noting that it's on a fairly busy road, so just keep that in mind if you have dogs or little kids running around. Logistics to check in and out were easy. Would stay here again.
