For those who want to go outdoors, Wit's End Retreat is located about 11 minutes from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park (this entrance is open year round). We are less than 10 minutes from Alder Lake and only about a half a mile to 92 Road where you can take your off-road vehicles to the Elbe Hills trails. There is also a trail close to the cabin that you can follow down to the Nisqually River. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, we are located about an hour and a half away from White Pass Ski Resort. The road in front of the cabin makes a great sledding hill when there is snow!
Follow the babbling sound of the seasonal creek to the deck in the front of the cabin. Relax in the new, covered hot tub and let the jets massage away your aches and pains. Please read hot tub rules before using. Unbreakable cups with lids are provided in the kitchen. A gas fire table and chairs are located next to the hot tub for outdoor dining as well as a Weber gas grill for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a cozy fire with friends and family. A fire pit, outdoor chairs, and a small amount of firewood is provided for your use when there is not a burn ban. If additional fire wood is needed, there are places nearby it can be purchased. Firewood will not be provided during a burn ban.

Our family stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend! This cabin is exactly how it is described online. It was very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again with my family. Lots of walking trails in the woods nearby. Our family did some sledding at MRNP nearby.
This place was great! Hot tub was awesome and kitchen is well stocked, plus it was super cute ☺️
This cabin is as nice in person as it is in the pictures, which isn't always the case! Everything was clean, fresh, and in good condition. It's a fairly small cabin but makes efficient use of space. There are lots of little extras and special touches that indicate the owners care about the guest experience. We hung out in the outdoor area most of the time, when we weren't at Mount Rainier Park which is only several miles down the road. Very nice place.
Well appointed and comfortable cabin — good kitchen supplies and plenty of board games family had a wonderful time!
Great home base for exploring Mt Rainer! This was our last stop on a 10 day road trip and we are going home with clean laundry! We all enjoyed the hot tub after hiking! Thanks for sharing your cozy cabin!
A great escape from our busy days in the city. We loved our time there and would love to take this trip again!
This place had it all in incredibly well-stocked kitchen, including coffee creamer, Keurig pods, and every other amenity in the kitchen you could dream of the hot tub was clean and worked perfectly. The fire pit was a nice touch with pre-chopped wood and fire starters to help the process. The property is quiet, private, and just what you need for a nice getaway up in the mountains. All brand new appliances made cooking a breeze! 10/10 would recommend
The owners have done a beautiful job with this cabin, and we had a lovely stay. Of particular note: there’s a long and quiet gravel road through the forest (in two directions) that is great for walking a pup, and the view of fall colors from the hot tub was amazing. We didn’t want to leave, and would love to stay here again.
We had just an amazing time as a family at this cabin the hosts went above and beyond to help and accommodating. The location of the beautiful cabin is so convenient to all adventures and we went on. The owners had every question you could have answered in a wonderful cabin book. We hope to have another break to go back to this cabin. We can not say thank you enough.
We had a wonderful stay at Wits End Retreat! The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautifully remodeled. It was the perfect location to explore Mt Rainier National Park. We enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of exploring and hiking. Thank you Carrie and Jason for a great stay!
Stay here! This cabin is in a great location, secluded but close to the National Park. It is freshly remodeled and clean. The owners have thought of everything- there are plenty of games and activities provided for the kids (puzzles, legos, books, toys) and all household items you could need! Kitchen is well stocked if you like to cook. Bedding is clean and comfortable. Full size washer and dryer and beautiful bathroom. Hot tub and fire pit are amazing to relax after a long day hiking or cross country skiing. Owners are responsive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!!!
Amazing cabin close to the entrance of Mount Rainier National Park! The amenities (hot tub and fire pit) made this stay so wonderful. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We didn’t want to leave! :)
Where to start! We stayed here for a week and this cabin is amazing and conveniently located near Mount Rainier in Ashford. This place has it all! Fire pit, fire table, extremely nice and clean hot tub, fully stocked kitchen with top notch appliances, washer / dryer, and beautifully decorated! Everything was spotless and well cared for. Wifi worked great (with the exception of one day), but count on no cell phone signal. I got one bar in a couple places with Verizon. Easy access from the roadway, but you have total seclusion from that and we didn’t hear any cars when outside. We had AWD and I would recommend that, but in the summer you should be fine to get out of the driveway. It’s not really step at all but it is gravel. You can see two other vacation rentals, but just barely, and they can’t really see you. I would recommend getting groceries on the way to Ashford, because they really only have a convenience type market in town. I’m pretty convinced this is one of the best rentals in the area, so snag it while you can because it’s a beautiful and relaxing place to stay.
