The place was cozy, quiet and relaxing. I will make plans in the future to reture!
The interior was nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen was well fept and everything worked. The showers and all water outlets in the house had instant hot water and the drinking water was very good and cold. The exterior and yard was weedy and unkept. One bathroom was so small an average sized person could not turn around; cabinet was positioned just inside the door partially blocking easy entry into the room; The very small toilet was very difficult to use for even a very small person; The burners in the propane grill on the porch were corroded and the propane tank was empty; the hand railings on the entry stairs were loose and would not have supported a person who grabbed them to keep from falling.. This cabin could be very charming with some cleaning up outside and easy redesign of one of the bathrooms. Throw the grill away.
We love this property. We have pets and the large, completely fenced yard is perfect for us. The neighborhood is mostly full-time residents and it is very quiet and peaceful. After our many visits we know a number of the full time home owners and they are very nice. The cabin is quite rustic. For a reasonable rate you get just what you need. The TV has satellite and worked very well. The kitchen is small and simple but has a good refrigerator, oven, microwave and coffee maker. For the first time ever in Greer, we ate out every meal but one. And we had so much more time for fun. So this trip we used the microwave once, the coffee maker everyday and took home a ton of food. I don't think we will ever cook as much again. Very little clean up needed in the cabin. Yeah! So if you want a great place for pets, peaceful, and close to all the best outdoor trips around Greer, this is perfect.
Last week we had quite a short stay at the 2 beez cabin due to the water pump failing and having to move cabins. As we understood, the water pump hadn't been maintained by the owners in many years. We were asked to list all of the issues with the cabin that we encountered during our short stay to the company who helps maintain cabins in the area (Cabin Butler). Safety issues: - gas stove igniters do not work (need to use lighter) - no carbon monoxide sensor in kitchen - no ventilation for gas stove - outside grill missing pieces and needs to be fixed/replaced Security issues: - master bedroom door not properly closing and handle falling apart Other major issues: - broken water pump (~30 years of no maintenance?!) minor issues: - indoor portable heater doesn't work - various WiFi names/passwords are outdated - DVD player missing? - Gutters need to be cleaned - wrong physical location identified on VRBO app (shows crescent lake as location) I would highly recommend VRBO remove this cabin from their app until the safety, security, and other major issues are resolved. In addition, I would am awaiting response from Cabin Butlers on reimbursement for one day's worth of the cabin fee due to the owner's lack of maintenance. I will be reaching out to VRBO as well with this request and may dispute the entire charge for our stay if this is not addressed.
Everthing is old from 1970 when was build
The yard was perfect for the dogs!
Nice cabin. Check in process was difficult. Directions were not good and when arrived to check in office we waited for about 20 min with no one there. Location on map is not accurate. Cabin is in greer.
The cabin was clean and in working order and met our needs well. As mentioned in a previous post, the bedroom layout could be a potential complication for some, though not for us. Visitors should also be aware that the cabin is on a well traveled road and there is a lot of traffic from trucks and side by sides going by and it can be noisy. This close proximity to the road could be a plus or a minus depending on what activities you want to do while in the area.
The cabin is spacious and can easily sleep 4 guests. Guests five & six would have to sleep in a well-used sofa bed in the living room. Furnishings are comfortable but old and in need of some updating. Bathrooms are well stocked with soap, shampoos, and lotion. Linens were clean and fresh but worn and could be replaced. This cabin has a homey feel right down to the hole in the master bdrm blanket; it felt like I was staying at my frugal great aunt and great uncle’s place. WiFi is available; but it V E R Y S L O W, don’t know if it was the provider or the modem. Speed toooooo slow to use Netflix or Amazon Prime; we were unable to attach even small to medium files to emails or upload images to FB.
Property needs a deep clean and some maintenance. Layout should be part of property description - master bedroom is accessed by an outside door or by passing thru second bedroom and a bathroom. Not very convenient if second bedroom is in use. Giving it two stars because location is good.
