We booked this property thinking we were not going to be surrounded by neighbors. We pull up and there’s 4 other cabins! The next was literally 20’ away. The property picture shows no other cabins. The “essentials” in our mind for “Up North” in WI in Dec is a short list…heat, Kleenex, and coffee…all of which were missing. Well…we had heat, it just took a while to warm up the place. Maybe they should include this line from their visitors “rule” book in the listing “ We know this is not a brand-new cabin but is just that, a cabin.”. Water heater could use an upgrade. The place sleeps 8 but only 3 can shower before there’s no hot water. Kids said the upstairs beds had a “sketchy smell”. However, outside of that, for the price it’s a decent place. Comfy beds. Plenty of dishes.
Good
Great cabin! Wonderful lake view. Beds were very comfortable!
Was a great place to be together as a family. We enjoyed lots of fishing, a yummy visit to the Butternut Cafe, and lots of puzzle/game time in the cabin.
Clean, well equipped cabin on great fishing lake!
Very nice place! Comfortable and memorable!
This was our first time renting VRBO so we didn’t know what to expect. This was in a perfect spot. Nice bar and restaurant walking distance from the cabin. Nice people and good food. Most of everyday items that you need were here. Lots of site seeing within and hour’s distance. Only 2 complaints: the AC was too small for this cabin and it took too long to get it to a cool enough temp. We used the fans that were there so that helped a little. The bottom of the patio screen door broken so we couldn’t keep the patio screen open to get fresh air (owners know already) Overall: we will be back! Loved it!
The setting of this cabin is terrific. Its close proximity to the lake, boat launch and the associated dock space is perfect for some R&R. Near the docks there is a nice little beach area for the kids to play, with excellent sand frontage for swimming. The open concept kitchen and living room make a great gathering area. I would highly recommend this property. We will be looking to book again.
We had a great time. Spent 3 nights and it flew by. Beautiful scenery and a quiet place to relax and hang out. We are thinking about going back in the summer to enjoy the lake.
Had a great stay at Butternut Cabin. Easy access to the trails . Bobbers was a great place to end the day. Super friendly & helpful staff & owner. Had a water problem at check In But the owner was very helpful and we finally got the problem resolved.
Just the space we needed for a girls getaway. Cozy but each had out own space and easy to get to.
Good hunting trip
Accommodations were perfect for our vacation. We look forward to coming back to the Northwoods & visiting again. :)
The cottage was clean and comfortably stock. Would have appreciated a picnic table to use for outside dinning. However we were disappointed to see the cottage was across the street from the lake. On the weekend the road was a fairly busy one and made for a anxious vacation with all my children having to go back and forth across the road from the lake to the cottage.
The location is easy to find and the view was very peaceful. It did take a considerable amount of time to cool the place down to a comfortable temperature. As previous reviewers have mentioned the bathroom is small but we found the shower to be superior. Without a paved sidewalk from the parking area to the cottage we were continuously tracking in the fresh cut grass. Yes, I would stay here again.
Had a great time with some old friends. Enjoyed our stay. Cabin was clean and worked well for our stay. Great location with a very nice view. Would recommend this to anyone who. Is looking to get away! Thanks much!!!
Easiest check in/out so far. Gorgeous views. Location is ideal for utv riding!! Restaurant/ bar steps away. Trails right by rental. Nothing fancy. Pet friendly so expect pet hair on furniture. Small bathroom. Temperature easy to control. Would stay there again.
Great experience on Butternut Lake! Within walking distance of bobbers bar. Some of the sweetest bartenders and locals ever. Very helpful in suggesting fishing areas and really spent time getting to know you in the short stay! Would definitely book again! Dave and Becky are sweet and personable (next door) happy birthday Becky! If you don't get to experience it by just being around ask for a bobbers shot from the bar, you won't regret it! Good food too! Didn't need to grocery shop nearly as much as we thought we would. Thanks for a great weekend!
