Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at 3 Bears. The house was very clean when we arrived. It's close to Pidgeon Forge and Dollywood (~20 min drive), but it still felt secluded and quiet with a beautiful mountain view from the back porch, which also had a hot tub that we all enjoyed. There was plenty of space on 3 levels, and the kids had fun with the pool table on the lower level. The house included a starter kit of paper products and cleaning supplies, and there was plenty of firewood to use in the wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen was adequate for the basics, but if you plan to make a large meal (ex. Thanksgiving dinner), you should bring your own essentials for meal prep (knives, casserole dishes, large pot). If you tend to be cold, bring extra blankets, and bring pillows and blankets if you plan to use the sleeper sofa in the living room. Lastly, be aware that there are active bears in the area! During our 5 day stay, we saw a mama bear with 2 cubs and another VERY large bear, at times within 20 yards of the house. Be sure not to go outside alone, particularly in the dawn/dusk/night time, and make plenty of noise when outside. The house has a bear locker for garbage, and don't leave any food/garbage in your car/truck.

Very outdated cabin. Especially furniture. There was not one piece of comfortable furniture to sit on or lay on. One bathtub stopper in whole house. We had to exchange it every night up and down the steps. Definitely take your own blankets and pillows! Not a good time to go in summer or early fall. Didn’t have a good view. Jacuzzi’s we’re nice, hot tub was nice that’s about all we cared for there. Definitely won’t be renting it again.

Perfect location, out of the fray of the touristy area but close enough to get anywhere in a short drive. Nice views and a very cute cabin. We had a wonderful vacation!

We had a great time spending the week of Thanksgiving here. Love the location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We could go into town and do touristy stuff and then head back to the cabin and feel away from everything.

We had a very relaxing stay. The views were amazing from the hot tub on the back deck over looking a very private and untouched scene of the Smokey Mountains. We were even lucky enough to see three cubs and a mama bear walk by just yards underneath the back deck. The cabin was very cozy and provided everything we needed, and was only a short distance from both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

We encountered a huge black bear. We could be in danger without our dog. If there is a warning sign, we will be more prepared.

Minutes to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Outstanding fiber gigabit internet. Located on the dead end of the road, at the top of the hill, plenty of space to park for a few cars. Buitiful curved mountain road, but you definitely need 4 wheel drive at winter and even chains to be safe. Very quiet, peaceful and very private and safe place. All equipped to relax and entertain after day hike. Bedrooms have no views, but patio+jacuzzi outside have some, as well plenty of light in the family room. Seen family of 4 bears just outside the cabin. Great and speedy communication with property manager. Little confusing with booking and check in process as you need to call in within certain time on the check in day to get access code over the phone. Why not via VRBO app or email? Will definitely stay again.

Let me begin by noting that I take writing reviews extremely seriously. I feel that future tenants should be aware of the good, bad, and ugly. For the record, I never contacted the property host to rectify any of the findings while we were there. First and foremost, if location and view are your major requirements in a cabin, this is the one for you. It is located at the top of a hill between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, with stunning views of the mountains. We even had a bear visit the cabin, which was thrilling. The negatives are as follows….. this is a three-story cabin with only one air conditioning unit, so when the downstairs is freezing cold, the upper levels are burning up. The furniture in the living room and dining room are really outdated. The couch and chairs have no filling left in the cushions and the dining table has so many scratches all over it that the varnish is off and there is some sticky substance that you can’t get off. The chandelier above the kitchen table contains three distinct types of lightbulbs with three different intensities and hues. Bathroom vanity lights are the same way. The upstairs shower door kept falling off. The carpet is soiled in places and both mattresses are like sleeping on the floor. I prefer a firm mattress, but this one was far too firm and incredibly uncomfortable. Over all….this cabin has a lot of potential but it definitely needs deep cleaned and updated. In its present condition, I would definitely not recommend to family or friends.
