This cottage was a wonderful place to spend a long weekend. The view was beautiful, landscaping quite nice, and canoe rides peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed to make full meals. Comfortable places to hang out inside, on the deck, and lakeside. Wifi and cell service were good. Great spot for a family of 4!

We had a wonderful time staying here. The owner was comprehensive in all her communication and restaurant recommendations. The cabin is so cozy, clean, and very well taken care of, and oh my gosh, the view is outstanding. I would definitely recommend renting here. Carol was amazing from start to finish during the rental period.

This Jewel is tucked away on a lakebank beautiful sunsets away from the world and the noise. I would have loved to tried my luck at fishing. Little cold this time of year and the neighbors was trying to get ready for Thanksgiving . Had a great time making memories here at Smith mountain lake. Don't pass up the opportunity.

This cabin is beautiful. My husband, daughter and I spent the weekend after Thanksgiving there and disconnected from our phones. I love how peaceful everything was and how you got amazing views from the living room and main bedrooms. The cabin was also equipped with everything we needed. Communication was clear and very helpful. We actually talked about going back during the summer months so we can enjoy the lake.

I finally planned a long-overdue Mother-Son Trip with my 47-yr. old son and his 12-yr.-old fur-baby. This cozy cabin didn't disappoint, but rather exceeded our expectations & afforded us the ideal setting for the relaxing get in touch with nature experience we were looking for. My son was able to go on several short hikes nearby the cabin and fish from dock on Smith Mountain Lake. I enjoyed sitting on the beautiful deck over-looking the large, well-landscaped back yard & listening to the sounds of nature while sipping my coffee each morning and basking in the sun. The interior of the cabin was just as I expected. So tastefully decorated and not child- proofed. I felt as though a decorator had just left before we arrived. Not to mention a cabin with a bidet?!! How lovely is that? Alicia, the Host was very accommodating and helpful from the first contact, throughout and after our stay. I could not ask for a better Host - She's top notch and strives to please! Something you don't see too often these days! There are only a couple things I'd do differently the next time I visit. (Yes, I do plan on coming back!! ) Plan to stay longer; 7-10 days would be ideal, for me. Once you've experience heaven, its so difficult to rip yourself away and return to normal life as we know it. Pack more wine!

Our family (my husband, our 13 yo son, our 10 month old baby, and myself) stayed at the cabin for a short weekend visit. We found it clean and easy to access. It had all of the things we needed including a high chair (which was a nice bonus). The dock was lovely and our son spent a lot of time fishing down there during out trip. The views from the cabin were really nice and the area was peaceful. Overall it was a great experience and we would certainly rent this cabin again.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The view is gorgeous! The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Decorated so nicely. It was peaceful and quiet. I was hoping to see the stars at night (which I am sure would have been amazing), but a tropical storm came in and the skies never cleared. Alicia was great and contacted us as soon as we arrived. She gave us ideas on places to go and things to see. Great communication. We had no problems at all. Would definitely love to come back again!

We enjoyed our stay at the lake. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Our favorite thing to do was simply sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful lake, the mountains, wildlife and the wonderful peace and quiet. Thank you Alicia for sharing your home with us.

You can read the good in other peoples reviews. But here's what I DID NOT love. Firstly, the dock for cabin 6 is pretty high off the water and there is not an easy access to the water if you are in a kayak, canoe, or paddle board. It is about 4-5 feet off the water so we had to lower everything down into our kayaks/canoes/paddle board while trying to balance in the boat and one of us standing on the dock. Then we had to lift a 85 lbs dog down into that. Not easy. Not only this we also had to drop the heavy canoe and paddle boards off this dock which was not easy. The only other way into the water with these things is over very large rough rocks that are wobbly. This was the most inconvenient thing I'd say about this location. There was also no washer or dryer to my knowledge. I did not see it in the house description on this website nor could I find one at all in the whole house. That is quite inconvenient when you have wet lake clothes for multiple days. There is no trash that runs out that far so you have to drive it to a nearby dump. They will not have a cleaner do it for you. Not the worst thing in the world but noted. The last day before we were leaving I was grabbing a few things out of the kitchen before we left and saw two roaches...not what you want to see when you book a house for nearly 2000$ for 3 nights.... I think the house was fine. Not the best I've stayed at but we still had a lot of fun! Fine but i.m.o not worth the $$
