This lovely three bedroom, two bath log home sits nestled on a mountain in the gated community of Alarka Highlands. The view from The Walnut will absolutely take your breath away. You will immediately be amazed by the ample windows framing the front of the cabin, perfectly placed so that you can enjoy the outstanding views, whether inside or out. Once inside, you will love all the custom cabin touches. From the tongue and groove throughout, to the darkly stained wooden beams, to the custom built wormy chestnut barn wood - every little detail matters. The open floor plan leaves the living and kitchen area in the perfect place so everyone can relax together. The kitchen equipped with custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and is fully stocked with everything you'll need for a nice delicious meal at home. The Walnut at Alarka Highlands is located about a 30 minute drive from downtown Bryson City, where you will find The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and many delicious restaurants and boutique shops. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is located about 45 minutes away, where you can find the entrance to the National Park and Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Also located in a 45 minute drive is the Nantahala River Gorge where you can find whitewater rafting, kayaking, and zip-lines.
During the winter months - January - February - until mid-March - Four Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive is Highly recommended for ease of access for this high elevation cabin.
