Had a great time visiting kirkwood and staying at the cabin. Plenty of room for the kids to spread out and everyone to relax. Will definitely be back in the future!
this property is beautiful...i recommend it for anyone who loves the county and the comfortable life. the house was perfect for our family of eight. it is chock-a-bloc with fascinating, fun items to look and and enjoy. but, it is not stuffy! the host was delightful to work with. the location couldn't be better. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a little slice of heaven.
This house is precious. We were there in August and my family flew in from the east coast for my niece's wedding. We spent 4 nights and 5 days and had a wonderful time reconnecting and sharing the experience. 4 adults and 2 small children and there was room to spare. The house was filled with games for the kids, a fabulous kitchen and dining area to have meals and the view is delightful. Set back at the end of the street with privacy yet the community was all around you. It was ideal for either leisurely sitting on the back deck, taking a hike on the path or just sitting around at night watching movies. This home is whimsically appointed with a warm sense of family. I imagine the winter months would be delightful as well.
The owner was very helpful with making plans and providing knowledge about the mountain, area and house. The house is nicely decorated and has everything you need. Access to TV apps to play ski movies to get fired up, board games, the awesome fireplace, modern kitchen with everything you need to cook proper meals, drip coffee maker (bring coffee), heated blankets, reading nook upstairs with lots of books, etc. The street and driveway get plowed. Driveway is steep-ish, can get icy after a big storm. Easy with a 3-Series with snow tires, not so much with just an AWD SUV with M+S tires - be prepared or park at the top of drive in dedicated spots or in the parking at top of street. Shuttle broke down on powder day and could not get us, so we did need access to our cars to get to mountain on time. Only thing this place needs is a hot tub ! :) Decent Internet - we worked from cabin and had multiple remote access sessions running
We loved this cabin that was overlooking the beautiful meadow and the mountains. The shuttle for Kirkwood Skiing picked us up at the end of the driveway and drove us home, so skiing was convenient. Highly recommend it.
The rental is lovely. The house is super clean. There is plenty of towels and bedding. The YouTube instructions for operating the wood burner are awesome. (Yes, it got down to 43 one August day) The kitchen is well equipped. Everything you would need to cook a meal. Would love to stay there again. The hosts are great.
My family and another family have now stayed at this house for two years during the winter time for skiing at Kirkwood. We hope to make this house an annual stay as we love it so much. The house is in a great location in Kirkwood. We get picked up at the top of the driveway by the Kirkwood shuttle and taken straight to the slopes in a matter of minutes. Alternatively, one can cross country ski straight from the house to the Kirkwood meadow. The house is well laid out for two families to stay very comfortably. The kids love staying up in the attic room. The kitchen has what seems to be an industrial caliber oven/stove/pancake griddle. The dining room table seats 10-12 people. The fireplace keeps everyone warm and cozy. The house is very clean and all the furnishings make it very comfortable and homey. The decor is whimsical and charming. We love it here.
We loved our stay at this house - it's beautifully appointed and has everything you need! Hope to come back one day.
We had a family vacation with 9 ,6 adults and 3 children 7,6,4 . It was perfect . Everything we expected and more. The children were able to go outside in the snow and we were able to view them from inside . They had a ball sledding on Destiney/Ledgend Mt ,right outside the window . We will be back !!
We recently stayed at this property and it was amazing. There was plenty of room for all of us, and views were amazing. Right down from the cabin is a creek that our dogs and kids played in every day, it was wonderful. There are lakes all around the cabin, we drove 5 minutes to two of them, and one of them we hiked to - several times. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to get away and just relax and enjoy the peacefulness as well as enjoy outdoor activities. The weather was wonderful while we were there through the end of July.
