The cabin fit our needs fairly well. Our main concern was that the overhead fan did not work. Since there were some very hot days, this was definitely an inconvenience. Also, the upstairs double bed was not arranged for adult sleeping. It would probably be okay for kids, but it was difficult for the person sleeping on inside to get in and out. We enjoyed the deck. We grilled several times. On one occasion, the table umbrella fell sideways. It did not come out of table insert, but it was scary as it fell toward people sitting around table. Noone was hit, but still frightening. The umbrella should be secured better. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The location was great. Kitchen was well supplied. And thank you for getting back to us quickly when we had questions.

Very clean, comfortable and host was great. .The lovely outdoorsy decor is solely undermined by the cabins drafty interior.robust insulation, perhaps an afterthought in this mountain cabin., is not an issue. The heat did not make it to the upstairs bedrooms so it was very chilly. Plenty of extra blankets and jackets. BURR! We are a cheery bunch and on the cold nights we snuggled around the fireplace and begged out lovely brother to read his copy of Mark Twain's the Jumping Frog. The location is great- close to shopping and hiking. You can wash and dry your duds here (bring your own laundry soap) ! So once you have purchased your essentials in town , there is no urgency to leave this getaway you UNLESS you out of toilet paper. Called the host and she said we supply you enough just to start with. One bathroom did not have a full roll to start with and the other did. Toilet paper and paper towels are listed under the 52 amenities' there was the need to stock toilet paper was not on our list. So on Thanksgiving day when all the stores were closed , we found our self 5 of us) in bit of a jam , so we had to siphon from a meager supply of paper towels to take care of business. The kitchen was well stocked , with everything from wine glasses, electric blenders. Lots of condiments. Great location- Big Trees, lots of hiking, pickelball, visiting the lovely town of Murphys, wine tasting and family chit chat. It .Great overall. !!!!

The place is super cute! I had a couple questions about some things and the owner was very quick to respond. We also got snowed in for a little bit. I was worried about checking out on time. I texted the owner and she was great about it! We would go back

We found the Sweet Retreat on short notice after a camping trip got cancelled at the last second. So coming in with a camping mindset, we were beyond happy with the cabin. It is rustic (plenty of spiderwebs and time to replace the window coverings) but very comfortable with a great layout. We really enjoyed the pool, and lake (Fly-in was much better than Lodge.) Heads up that the snack shack and restaurant are prone to temporary and early closures due to staffing issues but they’re a great option when they’re available. We were even able to take advantage of a Rec program (kids basketball clinic) while we were there. The kitchen is efficient and well stocked - with the exception of the knives of course, but I think it’s the law that all knives in all rentals be terrible. ;) It’s nice and quiet out at the edge of the development and there are tons of options for sleeping arrangements and lots of fun stuff to keep kids entertained. The good news is that the cabin is stocked with every size and vintage of snow boots and jackets, plus dozens and dozens of blankets. Bad news is that those items take up 99% of the bedroom storage so empty drawers and hanging space are in short supply. Know before you go: you’ll want to BYO Laundry detergent Pool/beach towels & toys Kleenex Food storage: foil, Tupperware etc. Fans if it’s forecasted to be 90+ degrees. The ceiling fan in the living area wasn’t functioning and ones provided in upstairs bedrooms aren’t very strong. It was consistently in the mid 80s upstairs but perfectly pleasant downstairs on hot days. Check in was a breeze, the host was super responsive and helpful to a couple of question we had. Check out was almost as smooth, they request that all dishes be washed and put away before you leave, nothing left in the dishwasher. Most other places just ask that you start the dishwasher before you leave so housekeepers can empty it upon arrival. That was a bit of a drag.

After having our vacation rental with another company cancelled a day before our scheduled arrival, we were very thankful to find this lovely home that accommodated our family. We spent 4 days at the property and it was very comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this mountain cottage get away. Surprisingly roomy, the house fit our family with lots of room to spare. It is well taken care of, clean and has a wonderful back deck under a canopy of trees. We loved sitting out back in the evenings and gazing up at the stars through the trees. Stunning! Arnold is a cute town with loads of outdoor fun for the family. The home is really close to the Big Trees State Park.
