Spent the weekend at the Sugar Shack celebrating my golden birthday and had the best time. Clean and quaint hideaway home. Mica was such a delightful host and I couldn’t have had a better time!
We absolutely loved The Sugar Shack!!! We definitely be staying here again when visiting our daughter in ATX!
We enjoyed this quiet house!
There were only two of us (and a dog) but there's room here for several more, with the upstairs. The downstairs is very spacious with a large, well-equipped kitchen and a nice living area (though shades of some kind on the west-facing window and door would have helped with cooling). The downstairs bedroom is cozy, but big enough, and the adjoining bathroom is fine with a powerful shower. The ceiling fan is good for sleeping. There's lots of interesting reading material, and board games. The unique wall decorations (bingo cards, mug shots) add a lot. The oops towels are a nice touch, and the second half-bath in the laundry room would be especially helpful for larger groups. I enjoyed gazing at the night sky - haven't seen the Milky Way in quite a while. My only complaint about the place would be the presence of the large buildings and RVs next door. I prefer a more isolated setting. There were never any signs of life in the three mid-week days we were there, though, so it wasn't really a problem. The place was very clean and ready for us. Mica responded immediately (and said sure) when I asked if we could show up a little early. Overall, definitely five stars - we may be back when it's cooler and greener.
I was looking for a place near Pedernales State Park to have a relaxing weekend near the river. This VRBO first hooked me by location being close to both the river and Dripping Springs. It was easy to get to and quiet. The place is stocked with everything you could need for a home away from home. Place stayed nice and cool in this crazy heat wave and was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again when in the are.
Relaxing, well stocked, peaceful getaway. A little out of town, but less than 3 miles from the wedding we attended. Perfect space for 2 couples and 2 kids aa long as you don’t mind sharing shower. I definitely recommend!
A great place to stay. Quiet, secluded for family and pets with a short drive to Pedernales State Park.
Awesome spot
We had a wonderful time! We were in town for a wedding and just needed a little place to get ready, hangout, and sleep and this was perfect!! It was just my husband and I and another couple and we had plenty of space. Bathrooms are a tad small but I did pick up on that when booking so I wasnt bothered by it. There is also only one shower so just be prepared for that if there is more than 2 of you. The only thing I would warn people about is that it is a lot of driving on dirt roads and you are deep into private property so there is not much surrounding as far as groceries and other essentials which I was prepared for but I felt like I should write it in here in case anyone was curious. Over all this place was wonderful and I would book again!
The sugar shack had everything we needed. Instructions were clear and the place was darling! Kitchen was well stocked and there were games too. Enough hot water for consecutive showers for all of us. Would definitely stay here again.
Down the end of a beautiful scenic road you will find a cute and clean little cottage. There are chairs with a fire pit in the yard and as you walk up to the front door several chairs and tables to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The living room has a nice big sofa and a chair. Plenty of room to relax or play family games (we did both). There is a dining room that seats 4 and a nice spacious kitchen that has everything you need. The bedroom downstairs is comfortable and has a full bath in it. There is also a half bath in the laundry room. The upstairs bedroom has a semi separate area with a king bed on one side and two twin beds on the other. There is also a cute sitting area outside in the back of the house. Overall this is a great house. It is also nice that check out is noon. We left at 11:59, so was super nice for us.
Great time
This property is the perfect combination of secluded and unique!! It’s hidden in the hills of Dripping Springs. It’s a Naturalists Dream, including Rain Water plumbing!!! The grounds are natural, native scapes and a front porch MADE for Star Gazing! Minimal light pollution! The decor is joyfully Eclectic and unique. The Sugar Shack is the perfect spot for a Friends Retreat or a Family outing! It contains everything you need for a memorable getaway. We made a multitude of plans to venture out and cancelled most to enjoy the Peaceful Energy of this space. Mica, you’ve got quite a gem in a tiny corner of the universe ❤️ We’ll definitely be back!!
My family and I stayed here for a birthday weekend. It was a wonderful trip. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed, including the kitchen. Secluded, private, quiet, and peaceful. The property manager was very easy to communicate with and helpful. Would stay again!
We were looking for a place to stay during the 2022 Texas Whiskey Festival and this is a gem! The house/cabin is a terrific location for families and adults. Directions were perfect. Host was easy to communicate with. Only trouble was the Nest thermostat, it was a challenge to program from the settings during the heat wave. Beds were all very confortable, kitchen was well stocked, outside eating area was perfect for breakfast and evening cocktails.
Cute house with cool, quirky decor. Great location, close to Pedernales Falls and lots of fun breweries.
This property is off the beaten path, which is what we were looking for. The house is as advertised. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked. We didn't cook much but everything we needed was there. Comfortable couch in living room. TV is a little small for the size of the living room, but we didn't watch it much. If you are going on a brewery/distillery/winery tour this is a nice location.
