Boulder Junction, Wisconsin
The Pad is a rustic 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin set in the woods overlooking Nichols Lake located in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. With a Double bed in each room and a pullout couch the cabin sleeps up to 5. The Pad is our smallest cabin on the property. Outside The Pad has a covered entryway, a firepit, a grill, private dock area and private small beach area. The Pad is one of 3 cabins (and one house) situated on 320 acres of family property known as Singwakiki which is just 2 miles from Boulder Junction. The property the cabins sit on has 8 miles of hiking trails and connects to Street Lake as well where guests are welcome to swim or fish if they'd like. Singwakiki is situated within the Northern Highland State Forest. Approximately 1 mile from the cabins is a paved bike trail which connects to a 100 mile network of biking trails. Nichols Lake is a small, no-motor, 40 acre lake that is good for pan fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing around. We have row boats, kayaks, and a canoe on the property for our guests to use. One of the unique things about this property is that we have the only homes or cabins on the lake so unless there is a lot of people at the state beach it is pretty quiet and secluded.
Arrived to no internet. Host mentioned a refund. Host mentioned relocating us to another of their properties. Never heard from host again. Never checked on us. Our friends were to join us two days in but had to cancel their vacation due to no internet as they work off their computers. We left early.
Quaint, quiet cabin, just as described. Almost private lake, seems like middle of nowhere, but easy walk to town. Private beach for each cabin a huge bonus. Great communication with Tracy!
First-class stay from start to finish. Beautiful property that is super quiet on a great small lake—We will be back!
Our stay at the Pad was so very relaxing. It was so quiet there, the cabin was cute and very clean, the lake was so pretty. The hosts were so friendly & helpful, and their pets were so friendly. The weather wasn't the greatest but our stay sure was.
A nice private getaway. Love the fact the lake is right there and the fishing was relaxing. Plenty of firewood which is super nice. Loved the owners dog visits too!
This property gives you the real flavor of the Northwoods. On our third day we spotted one of the albino deer in the area and it was a buck with antlers emerging. The lake is a nice place to row or paddle and there are hundreds, if not thousands of willing large mouth bass that are easy to catch.
Everything we needed and more! The property is gorgeous! We hiked the trails around the lake and loved it! Cabin was super cute and clean. I loved how firewood was provided there so we didn’t have to go buy any. Very nice owners! Very recommended! Very secluded which I loved!
I can't say enough good things about this property. It was perfect in every way. For a small, little get away cabin in the woods The Pad was excellent for me and my dog and, if possible, my dog liked it more than I did. Especially the surrounding woodlands. We live in the city so this was like heaven for her taking long walks along the excellent hiking trails deep into the woods. She had a smile on her face the whole week. And the hosts and owners, Sue and Gary, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They live nearby and were there if you needed firewood or baling out the row boat , without being obtrusive. Besides The Pad they have two other cabins on the property even bigger and better. If you're looking for a wonderful get away in the Wisconsin Northwoods I highly recommend The Pad.
From the moment of arrival I felt welcomed by the beautiful display of autumn, both in natural beauty of the fall foliage and the glimmering lake as well as the artistic decoration of flowers and pumpkins. The owners were there to greet me, give a brief tour of the cabin and insure that I had all that was needed. Then they graciously left me with the solitude I had requested. It was a wonderful stay, cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend.
This was a cute cabin in the northwoods next to a beautiful and peaceful lake. The kitchen was adequately supplied with needed dishes, cookware, appliances, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again.
Came to visit local Family and Friends, and go Musky and Walleye Fishing
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were thoughtful and kind, willing to help and interact - the kind of folks you count as friends. The property/ lake were both beautiful and very peaceful. The cabin was functional and nice. It was an A+ stay.
We had a wonderful stay at a lovely little get away. Beautiful lake with everything we needed. Host could not have been nicer or hospitable.
