Boulder Junction, Wisconsin
The Main Cabin is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin set in the woods overlooking Nichols Lake located in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. The cabin is roomy and comfortably 4, while there is also a pullout sofa for up to 2 more. The Main Cabin also has a fireplace and a small porch facing the firepit and lake. The Main Cabin is one of 3 cabins (and one house) situated on 320 acres of family property known as Singwakiki which is just 2 miles from Boulder Junction. The property the cabins sit on has 8 miles of hiking trails and connects to Street Lake as well where guests are welcome to swim or fish if they'd like. Singwakiki is situated within the Northern Highland State Forest. Approximately 1 mile from the cabins is a paved bike trail which connects to a 100 mile network of biking trails. Nichols Lake is a small, no-motor, 40 acre lake that is good for pan fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing around. We have row boats, kayaks, and a canoe on the property for our guests to use. One of the unique things about this property is that we have the only homes or cabins on the lake so unless there is a lot of people at the state beach it is pretty quiet and secluded.
The Main Cabin we incredibly clean and had a beautiful view of the lake. It had everything we needed to eat in (including a crock pot); however, there were plenty of options to dine out only 5-10 minutes away in Boulder Junction. We were happy to find a place where we could take both of our dogs (golden retrievers, so they usually exceed any rentals weight limits we’ve seen). They had a great time too and enjoyed the 8 miles of walking trails on the property and also walking on the paved bike trails about a half mile away. The full size beds do have memory foam toppers (3 or 4” thick) which did help make the beds more comfortable. Definitely recommend if you are looking to relax and disconnect!
This was mine and my families first time staying at this cabin and we could not be more pleased with how it all went. From the ease of the check in process to the end clean up everything was very easy and smooth. The cabin was very nice inside and out. The property is very secluded but close to town if you need anything. Fishing on the lake was really good. Our 3 year old still cannot stop talking about everything he caught. Also having access to the kayaks, canoe, paddleboat, is another great benefit. Overall, it was a great trip, very nice owners, and we will definitely be back next year.
Great location. Quiet, private and serene. Hopefully the owners will upgrade the full size mattresses.bouts were very old and not comfortable. Otherwise this cabin s everything you would want in a Northwoods get away.
Great little two bedroom cabin exactly what you would think is in Wisconsin!
The cabin has Northwoods charm. Two other cabins on property yet spaced well to still maintain privacy. Loved the non motorized lake allowing for peaceful kayaking and canoeing. Clear lake. Easy access to paved bike trails. Hosts were pleasant and accommodating.
My partner and I were just hoping to escape the city for an extended weekend and Singwakiki was perfect for that. It was quiet, the trust was beautifully maintained, and for most of the time we were there we felt like it was just us and the forest. There was some repair work being done on a future laundry cabin nearby, but I think this was a one-time thing and did not impact our experience too much. Owners had two dogs that made a habit of visiting for morning snacks :) Due to illness in the family we requested to take COVID-19 precautions that the hosts were extremely respectful of, which we really appreciated since it just gave us one less thing to worry about. We particularly enjoyed the cabin's wood-burning fireplace and screen porch. They made for sweet mornings and cozy evenings as we spent the days exploring. We stayed in the main cabin, but the others looked lovely as well and would make for a fun group trip!
