You are also 40 minutes from Broken Bow.

We came in March with two kids. The back deck was peaceful. When the leaves are off the trees, you can see the hill tops across the lake. There is a cabin next door, but it did not impact the secluded feeling. The lake, which is not visible from the deck, is only a few hundred yards from the cabin. The hill down to it is REAL steep and the risk of slipping is high after a rain. We walked down to go fishing while we were there, but the hike back up is not for the faint of heart. If you don’t want to hike down the hill, there is a public boat launch a half mile up the road. Cell service is almost non existent, so we brought walkie-talkies to communicate with the cabin from the lake. The cabin is about 15 minutes from the highway and 35 minutes from Hochatown, but we brought groceries and only went into town twice. The cabin has been recently updated. One bedroom has its own bathroom. The other bathroom is a Jack and Jill bathroom between the hallway and the large bedroom. The internet was a little spotty during the rainstorm, but otherwise worked fine. The board games, fusball table, and pickleball supplies were nice additions. We all had a great time.

As other reviewers stated, the house is very remote and the 8 mile drive off the main road is a little rough. Overall, the house was nicely appointed with the things we needed/wanted. Bathrooms were updated and amenities--soap, shampoo, etc. were very good. Towels and bed linens were nice and beds and other furniture were comfortable. The deck was nice for morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. My disappointments with the house were minor--only one working remote for four televisions, refrigerator ice maker wasn't working, recliner handle broken, no window shade in the master bedroom to block security lights, the Connect Four game on the wall was broken, the carpet beneath the dining table wasn't vacuumed (it looked like the cleaners left in a hurry and didn't finish since the vacuum was still leaning against the wall.) My biggest disappointment was with the Host. In previous rentals elsewhere, I have always had a responsive host. This one never responded to voicemail or text. Said he didn't listen to voicemails. So, I had to download the app for any communication. At the time we entered the house on a Monday, I reported my issues to the Host. He got back to me late the next day. As for getting check-in/check-out instructions, those didn't come to me until the day before we arrived and only after I reminded the Host that I hadn't received them. Very frustrating.

We loved the games, spa and towels for spa, WiFi for work (unfortunately we had to work some), bedrooms and island kitchen!! I would only recommend some blankets as they would been nice. Resides that you got it all there including DVDs, ball game on patio, sofa, chairs, even stops and blow dryers!!!!! Amazing and very quiet and peaceful!

Francisco was very accommodating and worked with us having to reschedule due to weather. The cabin was very clean and when it warmed up and the snow cleared we got to enjoy the outdoors and fire pit. Melissa was also very nice and came out to bring propane and loaned us a well needed shovel. So quiet and peaceful!!

The cabin is nice, but our stay had several challenges future guests should know. We drove 250 miles to get here ready to relax but found issues right away. The washer was broken, the downstairs toilet flush didn’t work (we had to fix it manually each time), and the exterior needed attention, spider webs, pet hair on outdoor furniture, and leaves and logs that could have been blown off. Inside, the cleaning was below expectations, hair in the bathroom and spots that looked like blood. There were no kitchen towels; the manager was responsive and guided me to where they should have been, but there were none. The listing shows a basketball hoop, but there wasn’t one, we even brought our basketball. We asked for firewood to cook out; there was a small amount, but not enough, and more was never delivered. The property is very remote, which we knew and prepared for by bringing everything we could need, but any trip to town takes 1.5 hours round trip. The strict 10:00 am checkout was the biggest stressor. We don’t travel light, and after breakfast, dishes, stripping beds, gathering towels, taking out trash, and packing, we worked nonstop and still couldn’t leave before noon. The manager was polite and responsive, but not everything could be fixed during our stay. The house has potential, but guests wanting a relaxing Sunday morning may find it stressful. With better maintenance, small extras (foil, ziplocks, more trash cans), and more checkout flexibility, this could be great rental

I had a lot of trouble with the additional app through suiteop but I am also not very computer savvy. Kitchen was great, WiFi worked well in the house but not on porch. The grandchildren loved the hot tub and games. My husband loved the remote location and happy to have boat access right down the road . Need towel hangers outside !

The Honey Lodge is an excellent place to get away from busy city life. This is a cabin in the woods with designer amenities. It looks exactly like the pictures. The house is clean and furnished with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable the linens are great quality. The bathrooms are very nice and the water pressure is great. The TVs are Roku tvs and very easy to use. There are 4 TVs, a large one in the family room and one in every bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need. All top of the line appliances and utensils. The patio is huge and as in the pictures, has a sitting area, dining table and huge hot tub. We’re from Dallas and we rarely see more than a few stars in the night sky due to night light pollution. At this house, you are away from all city light and you will see a beautiful night sky filled with millions of stars. If you are into hiking and nature, you’ll love this place. There is a one mile nature trail right down the street and groomed trails all around the area. Francisco…the owner, is great at timely communication and feedback. We highly recommend the Honey Lodge for a couple wanting to get away or for a family wanting to unplug and make new memories.

I wanted a place that was private but with hiking and fishing right out the back door. This place worked great. However, the lake that is seen on the picture isn't really accessible. There are steep, rugged woods between it and the house. From the description and comments from other renters it seemed that was the lake to hike to but that is incorrect. Although there is one down the road that can be walked to easily. This place is far out from town and stores, but that was known ahead of time. The road condition is not good onve you turn off the main highway but that's no fault of the homeowners. Its still a great place in all.

The house is beautiful and has a lot of amenities, including 3 bedrooms with very comfortable beds and 2 beautiful bathrooms with showers in each one. There are many thoughtful features throughout the house with hand soap and lotion in not only the bathrooms but the kitchen, also a washer and dryer. A dual Keurig coffee pot allows for regular as well as k-cup coffee. There is a wonderful grill, hot tub, couches and a great table and chairs on the back porch. Very comfortable!! The dining room and living room are beautiful and there are lots of games provided for all ages. There is a boat ramp within walking distance from the house. It’s about 7/10 of a mile. A few negatives of the location are it is 8.4 miles from the major road to Hochatown and Broken Bow. If you go to Broken Bow, they have some nice restaurants but it is about 60 miles RT from the house. Francisco is very responsive to all queries. I have one suggestion for him. He provided an online guidebook the day before we left. We were scrambling to pack everything and get on the road so we didn’t get to view it and copy it before leaving. That is information you need. I strongly suggest it be provided at least 5 days prior to the arrival date to give the renters time to print it out before leaving. There is a guest wifi capability but it isn’t as good as you can get in town. Regarding TV capability, live TV and Disney are provided. We watched several Disney movies. Netflix is available if you have an account.

We spent the weekend for a girls trip and the house was wonderful. Lots of deer and wild turkey's. The beds were wonderful and the kitchen was perfectly appointed with everything we needed. There isnt a view of the lake, but it was still very beautiful and quiet. Keep in mind the check in process is digital, and there is no internet service unless you jave the wifi password before you get there. We had to go back to town to get the password because there isnt a book to explain the details of the house. One small inconvenience didnt ruin our stay. A great time was had by all!

The property manager was most helpful with every possible need you may have. The digital concierge on the wall was a wonderful touch. We would highly recommend this cabin.
