The Elderberry Retreat - It's a Dream Location!

The Elderberry Retreat was the perfect place for our girls’ trip with 8 cousins! From the moment we booked, our host went above and beyond to make our stay special—including generously offering both early check-in and late checkout, which made our trip so much more relaxed and enjoyable. The cabin is beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The layout was ideal—plenty of room for all of us to gather, while still feeling comfortable and never crowded. We especially loved hanging out on the deck surrounded by trees, cooking big meals together in the kitchen, and playing bocce ball. The location is picturesque—tucked away, yet just a short walk to restaurants and shops. The host’s thoughtful touches and genuine care made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It’s clear they truly value their guests’ experience. We left with amazing memories—and we’re already talking about making this an annual tradition! Highly recommend The Elderberry Retreat for any group looking for comfort, charm, and a peaceful mountain escape.

Our long weekend getaway at the Elderberry Cabin was absolutely perfect. My husband and I treated our family to a Shaver Lake vacation, and we had the best time. We’ve stayed at several different places in Shaver over the years, but this cabin was hands-down the nicest. Everything was updated and in perfect working condition—heat, running water, and all the top-notch amenities we could ever need. The views were stunning, location was easy- walking distance to town, and we especially enjoyed some fun exploring the area. A surprise highlight was the bocce court—we had such a great time learning and playing the game together. Just a short, scenic hike away, we found the lake, which was peaceful and serene, providing the rest and relaxation we were craving. We’ve stayed at a few of this host’s other cabins, but this one was immaculate. It truly made for our favorite vacation yet. Thank you to our incredible cabin host—we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at the Elderberry House for a snow weekend with the grandkids. The home was perfect! The check in instructions were helpful, bedding and furniture were comfortable, and the location was perfect. Everything was provided. We will be back.

Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin. Jamie was very responsive to any questions we had. It has an extremely well stocked kitchen and plenty of room upstairs for the kids. Since we were there during a heat wave, the A/C did make us comfortable in the afternoons. Plenty of room to park boat trailers. Bocce ball was a very big hit!

Our family has stayed in the Elderberry Retreat for two winters in a row now and we cannot recommend it enough. The location is great as its an easy walk into the village to restaurants and coffee shops. The cabin itself is great for a family. The kids love the loft and the front yard is large and the perfect place to play in the snow. The host is fantastic and very easy to work with. We cannot wait to return again next winter!

The Elderberry Retreat is a wonderful cabin. There was plenty of room for our family of 4. The kitchen was well stocked, clean, and overall felt very homey. Located is a quiet neighborhood just down the street from the main road. The Foosball table and games were a big hit.

It has cute little touches that enhance the ambiance of the cabin. The Cabin Host provides within the cabine everything you need to enjoy your vacation. We just had to bring our food and clothing and the rest is there. I love that we can walk to town and the lake from the Elderberry Retreat location. This was our second stay in this cute cabin and we'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jamie was wonderfully accommodating when our stay needed to be rescheduled twice due to the terrible weather. The cabin was very clean, cozy, and well-appointed. A great stay for our family and friends!
