Stayed Feb 15, 2026The hot tub was so nice. And well shared. The outside was winter without snow. We had everything we needed, maybe a water glass or two more?

Stayed Jun 30, 2025We enjoyed our stay at The Cedar Cabin. It was a tranquil location and the perfect place for us when we visited Mt. Rainier National Park. It is about 20 minutes from the entrance and we never waited in line entering the park on this side. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay and was quite comfortable. We used the hot tub and it was really clean. There were a lot of bugs around the cabin (to be expected); however, there were also a lot inside, which was the only thing that took away from our experience. Overall, it was a great stay and a good location for a visit to MRNP!

Stayed Aug 23, 2024This was an amazing place for us to stay. My husband was a bit apprehensive about the shared hot tub but it was a short walk from our cabin and the hot tub was large enough to accommodate 6 people. The cabin smelled of cedar when we walked in the door and everything was perfect. There was everything we could have wanted for our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone else. The cedar cabin was definitely only for 2 people but a perfect get away for the 2 of us

Stayed Dec 29, 2025The cabin was a perfect home base for my wife and I during a ski trip to White Pass. We cooked most of our meals in, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Hot Tub was amazing, clean, and looked brand new! Our host Debbie was very fast to reply to messages.

Stayed Oct 30, 2025The host was nice and responded quickly. The cabin was amazing. She had everything we needed for our stay towels for the hot tub and slides, working kitchen with all the cooking utensils. The couch was awesome and the bed was comfortable. She had a heat pump system and the fireplace. We ended up picking up some fire logs and put my boyfriend’s skills to the test. Will be recommending to others for a cozy getaway. Beyond all the amazing trails and sites to see Debbie made the cabin a hundred percent worth the trip out here by its self.

Stayed Sep 19, 2025Nice cozy cottage. Debbie was a wonderful host. We couldn’t get the gas grill lit and she was there within 5 minutes to help us out. Kitchen was easy to prepare meals, lots of extras available to spice up the meals. Small but mighty shower! Great home base for exploring the Paradise side of Mt. Rainer.

Stayed Sep 5, 2025We recently stayed at this cabin, and we had no complaints whatsoever! If we had a problem, Debbie would be right over to help out. Her communication was 10/10. Next time we find ourselves in the area, we will be staying there again!

Stayed Jul 20, 2025It was practical for our stay near Mt. Rainier. It had everything we needed and in a good location for our needs. The hot tub was an excellent amenity especially after long days of difficult hikes. It could use a nicer mattress on the bed, thicker and softer, but I’m an achy mattress snob so it might be fine for you. I would return to this rental though. It was quiet for the most part, we rarely heard anyone else.

Stayed Jun 17, 2025Packwood was a good place to stay for our June 2025 trip, with a few restaurants and a grocery. You have to turn and cross the bridge in the middle of town to get to the Cedar Cabin's property.Signs are easy to follow (Google maps helps). Check-in was super easy; park right next to the cabin and head in. The property has some animals, but it was nice and the inside was very quiet.Honestly, we were in the park most of the time so we didn't use the cabin very much other than to sleep and warm up some breakfast. The little kitchen worked well for that. I didn't even see any other people during our two nights.Bed is comfortable, room temp easy to adjust with remote near front door. Good hot water. Sofa in living room was really nice for some work I had to do on my laptop. Good internet. If I forced myself to find anything to gripe about, it would be the small bathroom. Shower is tiny (like 2'x2') for a guy like me. But that's just the nature of a little cabin like this and smaller people should be fine.If you're headed to Mt. Rainier, it's about a 15min drive to the entrance. Get there before 7am and you don't have to stop at all. It's about an hour's drive total to Paradise and Longmire, but there are a lot of places before that with good trails and views, too. Sunrise area still closed in June.Summary: wonderful little cabin in a quiet, wooded area, close to food and the southeast entrance to Rainier. Wish we'd had a few more days here during our trip!

Stayed Jun 12, 2025We had a great time at the cedar cabin. The property was well-maintained and quiet. It was easy to find and was located just 5 minutes from Packwood and roughly 15 minutes from the East enterance to Mt. Rainier Natl. Park. The small propane grill outside the cabin was clean and ready to use. The only reason I gave 4-stars on cleanliness was that there were condiments left in the fridge (I understand not wanting to waste, but they were expired for over 2 years) and the toaster was pretty obviously covered in spiderwebs. Small things that did not put a damper on our trip, but mentionable. Otherwise the cabin was very clean. The cabin is definitely small, but we spent little time inside. The firepit was nice to use, but bring a hatchet to make your kindling!

Stayed Jan 10, 2025The Cedar Cabin was a great place to get away for an extended winter weekend. It was just right for the two of us and our pup. The White Pass Recreation area is a short drive away and there are other trails in the Packwood area worth exploring. Though small, the cabin had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed walking around the grounds and sitting out by the outdoor firepit. The area was particularly peaceful and quiet. It was a great stay overall and it will remain on our list of places to visit again.

Stayed Nov 15, 2024We stayed a couple of nights and really enjoyed our getaway from the city. Although there are many hiking opportunities, we only went out once because of the rain and enjoyed the hot tub and coziness of the cabin to cook and relax. Debbie was great responding to any questions and concerns we had and we had a lovely time. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

Stayed Oct 15, 2024Cabin was clean and close enough to the town area. Communication with host was easy and pleasant. The cabin was smaller than we thought it would be, especially the bathroom but photos sometimes make things look larger. The outside of the cabin could use a good washing, lots of spider webs and a few in the cabin too. Over all it was an ok place to stay.

Stayed Aug 30, 2024We were looking for a quiet place where we could relax in-between trips to the Labor Day Packwood Flea Market. This little gem definitely fits the bill. It's about a 5 minute drive from town, but quiet enough to think you are alone in the middle of the woods. The inside was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, pans, seasonings, and even a sharpener to touch up the knife blades. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom packs a lot of utility into a very small footprint. It is a standup shower, just not a stand-up-and-turn-around shower. The outside could use a broom to knock down the cobwebs, but that kind of lends itself to it's rustic charm. This was a perfect weekend to relax and enjoy everything that Packwood has to offer

Stayed Aug 25, 2024Everything we hoped for and more! This is an adorable log cabin. They’ve thought of everything. The property is a lovely park like setting. We enjoyed using the bbq, the picnic table right out our door and on our last night a nice indoor fire in the wood stove. The Stevens Canton entrance to Mt Rainier is nearby. We look forward to our next visit here and will highly recommend Moon Mountain Lodge. Thank you for being an awesome host Debbie!

Stayed Aug 4, 2024The cabin is set on 6 acres and is very shady since it sits on the edge of a wooded area. While there are 2 other rentals plus the owner's house on the property, it is very private and extremely quiet. I never heard the other guests except when I went to the communal hot tub. There was no sound of cars. I did here the wind in the trees, birds, and other sounds of nature. The owner is very responsive to requests. One night the jet of the hot tub would not work and she fixed the problem immediately. Although the kitchen is small, it has everything you need and is thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the space. I always carry a knife sharpener but I did not need it- the knives must have been sharpened right before my stay. The bed was remarkably comfortable with a mattress that felt new- just the right amount of support and no sagging or valleys and hills. The decor of the cabin is charming. It is made of cedar logs, has wooden ceilings, black forest inspired curtains, table clothe and kitchen towels. Forest prints and wood carvings on the walls. There are two long benches which give convenient storage and enough hooks to allow not only the towels but any hand washed laundry room to dry. I stayed a week and had a lovely time hiking in the national park, national forest as well as kayaking on mountain lakes. I highly recommend staying at Moon Mountain!
