Stayed Aug 29, 2025We've stayed at many properties in South Haven over the years, and unfortunately, this was the most disappointing experience to date. Upon arrival, we found the exterior windows covered in cobwebs, dead bugs, and debris. Half the windows were missing screens entirely. Though we contacted Cody from Lakeview, his response was that they’d just picked up the property and were “working on getting it up to par.” If it’s not ready, it shouldn’t be rented. Things got worse when we noticed an ant infestation in the kitchen—crawling on the microwave, stove, walls, and even our food. Cody dismissed it, saying ants were “bad this year” and he had them at home too. There’s no excuse for not treating a known pest issue. Other issues: Wi-Fi was spotty or nonexistent, beach gear was broken, and the house lacked basic essentials like extra trash bags or salt and pepper. Photos online make the home appear much cleaner and more polished than it is.
