Secluded, Rustic, & Loaded with Country Charm! Tarkiln Branch is an adorable log cabin that has been thoughtfully remodeled to highlight it's country roots.

This lovely little cabin sits nestled in the woods just west of Bryson City in the Needmore community, which is close to the Nantahala River Gorge and Fontana Lake. This is the perfect spot if you're looking for an affordable, quiet little cabin to truly get away from it all. As you arrive, the porch just invites you to sit a spell in the rockers or the mountain laurel conversation set. If you need to thoroughly unwind, take a dip in the covered hot tub and you'll feel the stress melt away. There is also a covered area with gas grill, picnic area, cornhole boards, and fire pit - which allow for outdoor fun. Inside is cute as can be. The living area has a wood burning stove, which invites you to relax, watch a movie, and curl up by the warm fire. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to whip up a nice meal right at the cabin. The bedrooms each feature a queen sized bed. The baths are where you really feel the old world country charm. The full bath has a large stand up shower and vintage vanity that has been converted to a sink vanity. The half bath is constructed to look like an outhouse with an old washbasin style sink. For guest convenience, there is a stacked washer/dryer, wireless internet, and covered outdoor dog kennel to give your pups some outdoor space to play.

Tarklin Branch is located about a 15 minute drive west of Bryson City. It's the perfect spot if you'd like to go kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, swimming, or mountain biking, as Fontana Lake access and Tsali Biking Trails are just a short 10 minute drive away. It is also located closely to the Nanatahala River Gorge where you can find whitewater kayaking, ziplining, and horseback riding. Downtown Bryson City is just a 1 minute drive, where you will find the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Deep Creek access to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and many local shops, restaurants, and breweries.

Our family had an awesome time here. The cabin was clean, safe, and had plenty of space to spread out. Everything we needed was provided, and the host made the whole process easy. It was a great home base for relaxing and exploring nearby.

My friend and I enjoyed our long weekend. Only downside was the shower situation, and if you’re tall like we are, you’re gonna have to duck through the doorways. But it was very peaceful

The cabin is beautiful. The location is great. It was close enough to town, but far enough away to feel private. The hot tub was great! The only complaint is that the shower is not very comfortable. Hard to make work, and very small. Otherwise great!

This was my first time here an I will definitely be back! The only complaint was the uncomfortable furniture in the living room. The property was well kept, clean cabin, and you have plenty of privacy.
