The Taos House Ski Cabin is the perfect getaway in Taos Ski Valley for your family and friends. This spacious, light-filled, mountain home is the ideal place for great summer and fall adventures, or close to the slopes winter ski vacations.

The home is designed for socializing and will accommodate multiple groups (like kids and adults) gathering in separate living areas, or all together in the large living room.
One large open concept living, dining and kitchen area with a central stone fireplace and wood stove is the working heart of the home. Pass through to the A-Frame side and enjoy a spacious living room entertaining area with large smart TV, windows to enjoy the mountain and forest surroundings, and the wet bar.
From the A frame side access the queen bedroom and bathroom, or head up the steep cabin stairs to the extra sleeping spaces a full mattress in a private bedroom with balcony and exit stairs, and a two twin loft overlooking the main living area.
Outside, the huge deck is perfect for enjoying summer sun and breeze with morning coffee, and afternoon iced tea or cocktails, and Saturday afternoon grilling with dining al fresco at the patio dining table.
There is parking for one or two thoughtfully parked cars in the driveway but only one way access. 4WD or AWD capability is required in winter to access the Ski Valley and this cabin.
The house is situated just off Twining Rd in the base area village which means it's an easy walk/ski or short drive to the ski lifts (through a neighborhood and over a bridge to Pioneer Lift) depending on the skills of the guest. Getting back to the house from the lifts requires a walk. It's a comfortable walk for those who don't mind the hike, but families with less physical fitness will prefer driving 2 minute to base area free parking and taking the shuttle to the lift drop off.

The Taos ski cabin was the perfect location. It is only a few minutes’ walk to the ski resort—about a 7-minute walk for me. The cabin has everything you need. The layout is great, with a large kitchen on one side and a bar on the other. There are two separate living areas, which is perfect for families or groups—you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. Upstairs has three beds, enough for four to five kids. They can make all the noise they want without bothering the adults. Downstairs has two bedrooms, each able to sleep two adults comfortably. The attention to detail throughout the cabin was excellent. The old-school décor really stands out and reminds you of the history of skiing. My favorite feature was the fireplace—the red color with the black pipe gives it a unique and cozy feel. Oh, and did I mention there are two bathrooms? No fighting in the morning while getting ready. There’s also a large deck where you can step outside and enjoy a drink. I’ll end with this: “It’s the simplest moments—listening to the crackle of burning wood, sipping a cup of coffee from a mug that says ‘Hot Hot Hot,’ sitting in a snow cabin waiting for everyone you love to wake up so you can go hiking together. It really doesn’t get any better than this.”
