Stayed Dec 3, 2025Rolling hills cradle forested land and placid pond,Where green fields breathe and a grazing steed look on;Ducks trace quiet arcs, chicks gather close,Beside a logged cabin, humble, warm, for writing prose.A loft holds silence, as fireplace embers glow,While front and back porch help your day slow.

Stayed Oct 31, 2025The cabin and property were just as described. This is a wonderful location, so peaceful and relaxing. Watching the horses graze and run was a highlight for me. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with essentials. Hosts are great. Very responsive, helpful and more than willing to answer our crazy questions regarding the raising of the animals on the ranch. We did not take advantage of the fireplace but logs (and instructions) were available. The location is perfect, very short drive to downtown Landrum. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Stayed Sep 12, 2025Sunset Cottage was exactly as advertised. It is beautiful and secluded and is perfect for wanting to slow down for a few days from the everyday grind. The cottage gives a rustic feel but is also clean and has all the modern amenities needed. A short walk behind the cottage takes you to a secluded pond where we were able to just rest for a spell an listen to the silence of nature. The location is also fantastic as it is not far from so many beautiful small towns with so much to do. The host was very accessible and was able to answer all questions we had at a moments noticed. The cottage made for a perfect weekend getaway!

Stayed Apr 30, 2025Hosts Trey & Kelli were very friendly, helpful, responsive & attentive. Thank you for the fresh eggs - perfect breakfasts every morning in this sweet, Sunset Cottage. The cottage was charming, cozy, perfect within peaceful surroundings. Well appointed & all we needed - even a washer & dryer tucked away to use. We loved the antiques (especially the stove), & the cozy fireplace which we used during cooler nights. While the first few days we had light drizzling & overcast, it was utterly so peaceful on the property; reading on the back porch, sitting on the dock on the lake, fishing, & watching the rain dance on the water, just allowed us to breathe & rest. We miss it already. Beautiful property - front of the cottage landscaping is pristine. We are big fans of downtown Greenville, but we also explored Landrum, Travelers Rest & other surrounding communities with so much charm. We had days of laziness, days of hiking the nearby Rainbow Falls & Jones Gap Trails or taking in the breathtaking view of Pretty Place. All within an hour driving which changed up our days with new adventures. We even loved the Ingles Market not far, which we bought the best-tasting, fresh baked bagels from their deli. The weather during the last few days in Landrum & downtown Greenville were perfect; cool, crisp, clear with spring breezes that allowed us the most refreshing walk to the local zoo, cafes & a bike tour through downtown Greenville. Perfect! Thank you, Trey & Kelli! The best!!!

Stayed Nov 24, 2024I recently stayed at this charming cottage in Landrum, SC, seeking solace near my ailing older brother and a quiet space to write. As I parked my vehicle to the side, I was immediately struck by the rustic exterior, a timeworn shell that evoked a bygone era of wilderness and tranquility. Little did I know that this initial impression would profoundly resonate with my soul, blending seamlessly with the cottage’s interior—a doorway into the serenity and simplicity of forgotten days. It was more than a retreat; it was a restorative journey into peace and reflection. A gem.

Stayed Nov 7, 2024We so enjoyed a couple of nights with our adult son who lives in South Carolina. We loved the sweet cottage with the swing bench on the back porch. Reading on the porch amongst the trees and visiting on the dock at the small pond (a short walk from the cottage) were especially sweet. The cottage is updated while holding on to it's old-feel charm. As others mentioned, it does smell a bit musty when you arrive, but the weather allowed us to open windows so it really wasn't an issue. We enjoyed being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful country. Oh! And the Hare and Hound was an excellent restaurant along the quaint downtown street.
