This cabin in an historical area, we have at the land an old train trestle. By the end of the 1800s, a railroad started hauling timber from Cloudcroft New Mexico to Alamogordo. Because of the scenic beauty of this mountainous route, the idea of a tourist attraction was brought to fruition. This route ran from the early 1900's until 1948. Because of the high elevation (8,676 feet, 2644 m., one of the highest in the US) allows for a mild summer and snowy winter.
Awesome property to get away from the city. Very nice host helped us with the heating issues as best they could. Very beautiful scenery. Definitely recommended you wont regret it.
Everything great. Nice big place. Everything you need. Just a great place
loved the quiet. Met the owner, very friendly and helpful.
Offered full amenities for cleaning, cooking, and relaxing. No issues to complain about.
We arrived late evening. Struggled getting in, no porch light. Pitch black.
My kids loved it and so did I would go back again, really clean and spacious, had everything we needed.
I left a note on the table.
The location was great. Easy access to Cloudcroft as well as White Sands. The home was comfortable and well stocked. We were in the bottom (cabin 3) but did not hear anything from the people staying above us. Host was quick to address any issues we had. We would definitely consider staying again if in the area.
The property and area were wonderful. The owners were very kind and friendly. We really enjoyed every part of our stay. I recommend this place to everyone.
Great time
The owner was very friendly and the cabin met every need we had. I wish we were able to have a camp fire but overall the stay was delightful.
The location was perfect for a quick trip to Cloudcroft. We went hiking in Cloudcroft and then went to White Sands. It was roomy enough for my family of seven. Thanks!
Easy to get to and easy access to the highway. But, also being in the back helped with noise and the beautiful Lincoln National Forest was directly out the window. Perfect in every way.
wonderful
My husband and I just spent a relaxing weekend at the Sunken Treasure cabin. It was exactly what we expected. It’s roomy, comfortable and has everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay. While it is attached to two additional cabins , the entrance faces a completely different direction from the others to ensure privacy. We really enjoyed our stay and if you’re looking for an authentic cabin experience, this is it!
The size of the place was perfect for our family of 4+ an infant. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place. We use it as a go to for a white sands day trip. And it was just a short drive to downtown Cloudcroft. Overall an enjoyable stay.
