First the good. It was nicely decorated with relatively comfortable mattresses & had a beautiful view. Why the low rating? 1. The property isn't marked AT ALL. We arrived after dark. The gravel road you need to take isn't marked. The driveway to the property isn't marked. I was only able to identify the property by it's silhouette in the moonlight. Literally. 2. The gravel road up to the property is EXTREMELY steep! Our RWD truck had a hard time with it especially with the loose gravel. FWD SUV or truck a MUST! 3. The front door has a key pad and the back door has a push button lock, but no deadbolt The door latch barely catches. It wouldn't take much effort to push through that door. 4. I texted the 2 managers of the property at 10:00 pm hoping that there was a security system I could activate in light of the back door. I got no answer until 5:30 am the next day. The response was our system outside is always set through us so you just need to lock the doors. 5 There's a hole at the top & at the bottom of the front door. I have to presume this is where the dozens & dozens of ladybugs got in. A review from a year ago reported wasps & other bugs being an issue. Clearly, this issue has not been addressed. 6 Other maintenance issues include multiple windows without screens, one window without a lock, no towel bar in one bathroom & a bathroom door handle that is so loose I thought it might fall off.
Nice, secluded cabin. We made an impromptu visit to tuckaleechee caverns. Definitely recommend the cabin and the caverns.
Very nice location and great accommodations!
Convenient to Cades Cove and restaurants in Townsend. Recommend a truck to get up the gravel driveway.
Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin! It had everything we needed and we felt right at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We enjoyed our short stay at this cabin. It was clean and easy to find. Nice getaway
Such a great little cabin in the woods, beautiful views, very clean and nice!
We enjoyed being away from the traffic of the highways. We spent the day at Cades Cove and around and it was easy to get back to at the end of the day. I think anyone in Hope of a nice place would enjoy it. A pickup truck is definately needed for the driveway! But it was fun.
The place itself was so nice and everything was so great. the view was great and the amenities available were great. I would definitely re-visit the place! :) I would highlg recommend the place!
The cabin is very well kept and all the necessary equipment on hand for cooking and outdoor enjoyment. We were pleasantly surprised to have very comfortable memory foam mattresses on each bed, just like at home. We highly recommend arriving in the daytime, as the driveway requires a bit of navigation. Once there, the views from the deck are wonderful, especially with the great fall colors.
First the good. The location and view were fantastic. The beds were comfortable and all appliances were functional. Sitting out on the porch was very stress relieving. There were also challenges. The gravel road up to the cabin is pretty rough. It was manageable in a SUV but I would hesitate in a smaller vehicle. Probably the time of the year, but there were many insects inside. I don’t know how they entered but every day there were six to ten wasps inside at the windows and door. Also a number of flat bugs and lady bugs. The front door lock was a challenge. By the third day I had figured out it’s quirks. Don’t be surprised if a neighbor is engaged in target practice with a shotgun, after all it is hill country. Communication was good and reasonable cleaning requirements at the end of the stay.
Location - This is the perfect location for a Townsend/Gatlinburg adventure! The cabin itself is located just off of 321. There are local Townsend attrictions less than a mile away includingTuckaleechee Caverns and Davy Crockett Riding Stables from the Cabin. Cabin - Very clean, newly updated and welcoming. It was the perfect place when my family and I returned from a long day of adventures. Owner - Communicative, prompt and informative. We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing Townsend/Gatlinburg getaway.
We had a really great experience. Easy check in and out. Very clean and comfortable beds. Great location. We will definitely be back!
