Cute and very comfortable cabin
If you would focus on updating this cabin, it would be incredible! The sliding glass door latch/lock is broken, there aren’t any extra blankets, the microwave face is taped on, the oven handle is broken, the hot tub is broken, and people need to be warned that the 2+ mile driveway up to the cabin is dangerous.
The correct entry location was never mentioned on any correspondence, so we spent 10 minutes trying to get in the wrong door. Upon entering there wasn’t any AC on and the hot house wreaked like dog urine. The crew cleaned but clearly missed the dog urine on the dining table leg or the desk and rug in the bedroom. AC was broken for 3 days before it was fixed. This clearly was a beautiful home but it has fallen into a lack of care and disrepair. While decorated nicely, some of the appliances, rugs and furniture are very worn and smell. The living room recliner had a big urine stain on the leather seat. The kitchen smelled of onion and the dishwasher like fish! I had to clean the cutting board and run the dishwasher to get rid of the smell. The condition of the outdoors and furniture did not resembled the photos, sadly. The furniture had peeling stain. The railings near the kitchen deck were rotten to the point of being dangerous. The photos shown make it look like a new cabin when in fact it’s 15 years old. It looked haunted upon arrival. Be aware the steep road is not conducive to cold weather travel /sub freezing weather. I was so hoping to have a great time, but there are too many negative factors to be a good rental. A major detail house cleaning and some updating is badly needed.
We had a great time, enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor fireplace which unlike the current listing states is working.
This was a great cabin for us to celebrate our first anniversary
Lovely relaxing property. No Mountain View’s in the summer but very secluded and quiet. Beautiful clean cozy cabin. Outside could use a pressure was and windows clean to enhance the place a tad. Overall a fantastic experience in a great area. Watershed was more than helpful and very friendly.
My wife and I had a great, peaceful, relaxing time. We didn't want to leave. The Stargazer cabin was the best. It felt like home. It was just the right distance away from civilization. Relatively close to Cherokee, Bryson City, and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Very nice and convenient. Dealing with the booking and the property manager was seamless and very pleasant. We look forward to returning to the Stargazer Cabin as soon as we can.
Overall, our stay was great! Beautiful property and lived the secluded, quiet location. This side of the Smokeys is so much nicer. The only thing that could improve was some condition issues. The sliding doors need some work, the outdoor fireplace didn't work and the hot tub couldn't be run with the jets in because the power kept tripping when we ran it. They did try to address it, but never worked properly. Still a great place.
The property and surrounding nature setting was peaceful and splendid. We got snow just hours after hiking in 50+ degree weather. The entire experience was fantastic!
Beautiful cabin, well appointed. Wonderful shower, cozy gas fireplace inside, lovely relaxing hot tub. Deck wraps around the house and is secure enough to let your dog run around on it. The road to the cabin is slightly treacherous, very narrow with blind turns. No guard rails, quite scary at night. Would not visit in winter due to road and driveway(quite steep needs new gravel)
