Bryson City, North Carolina
Situated in the Baines Mountain area of Alarka, the Stargazer Cabin offers a private respite from big city living nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
This property offers many ways to relax. Read a book on the porch swing, lounge in the covered and screened-in back porch, soak in the private hot tub, or cuddle with a loved one and roast marshmallows in front of the large fire pit.
Situated at 2600 feet above sea level, the lack of light pollution allows amateur stargazers the chance to see Orion's Belt, Mars, Venus, and even the International Space Station on a clear night, with or without the property's telescope.
For the nature lover, the Stargazer Cabin is nestled in a hiker's paradise, not only will you be close to Alarka Falls, Deep Creek, the Appalachian Trail, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but many animals frequently roam through the yard, which adds to the cabin's outdoor charm.
Once you are done enjoying the outdoors, make yourself at home and relax in the cozy atmosphere of the cabin. The master bedroom has direct access to the deck and the hot tub. The second bedroom is perfect for young visitors, complete with two twin beds. Extra sleepers can be accommodated on the pullout sofa bed in the living room.
A collection of classic novels allows your inner bookworm to thrive with the classics of literature. There is also a Blu-ray player and an assortment of DVDs the entire family can enjoy. Or you can turn off the television and enjoy a quiet family time with classic board games.
For those wishing to prepare meals, the property features a kitchen, complete with everything you may need to prepare almost any meal. The porch is also home to a large five burner gas grill.
The Stargazer Cabin is located 15 minutes from the heart of Bryson City. The surrounding vicinity includes The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Cherokee, Fontana Lake, and Nantahala Outdoor Center.
We loved our stay at this cabin - it was clean, well-equipped, and had a welcoming feel. The hot tub was like heaven and we immediately understood why the cabin was named Stargazer! I’m not sure how it is in the summer (when leaves are on trees again), but in the “winter”, you can see every star in the sky - it is magical. We would definitely stay here again! My main point of feedback is regarding wifi connectivity…. The wifi is not consistently strong enough to support the streaming TV (only 1 device connected). It will be fine for a few minutes, then begins buffering every couple of minutes. This isn’t unusual in “remote” areas, but something to note, especially since there is absolutely no cellular signal in the area (SOS only). You will not be able to work remotely from this cabin.
It was a wonderful peaceful way to relax for a weekend!
