We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Splash of Moonshine. The cabin is roomy and has everything you need to settle in for a nice vacation. The kids enjoyed the pool table and indoor pool, and I enjoyed the hot tub after very long days at Ober Mountain. Kids stayed from open to close! There are dishes, cookware, and utensils so if you don't want to go out to eat, food can be prepared there. There was no icemaker in the fridge, but we just bought a bag and it was fine. While there were a few issues, most were minor, and management was very quick to respond and make corrections. They also checked up to see if everything was going well. I appreciated that extra touch. Christian, the maintenance man, was awesome and he gave us tips on exploring the area. When booking a cabin, bear in mind this is not a hotel so there is no room service or anyone to come clean everyday. The cabin will have a lived in feeling, with the same issues that you may have at home. Everything may not be perfect, but it was perfect for us. I would stay here again and since the cabin is at the very top of the hill, there was ample parking and it was quiet and private. If you do stay at one of these cabins, please be respectful and don't throw trash over the balcony. The area behind the cabin is difficult to access and clean up. I believe everyone should treat the property as it was their own. Besides, trash will attract bears and while I would like to see bears, I don't want them on my back porch.
The cabin was nice and clean except the pool room. The pool had a ring around (like it hadnt been cleaned for awhile). Black on the ceiling and some on the walls in the pool room. Dehumidifier was full, not been cleaned. Solar lights in there never worked. All the other cabins were decorated for Christmas except ours, kinda disappointing. Beautiful cabin but please keep the pool and pool room maintained. We paid alot extra to have a pool.
Wonderful family spot. Nice and secluded for a community environment. Would definitely recommend and return.
Nice place, beds were a little springy
We had lots of fun at the pool Downstairs And overall enjoyed our stay. Bathrooms are very nice just this cabin needs overall a good thorough deep cleaning and a couple of furniture upgrades.& it would be a big difference
I booked this cabin for my daughter, mother, and husband's birthdays. I was sent to the wrong address for check in 25 minutes away. Luckily, property manager was quick to fix our issue. When we got to the correct location there were several issues. Key pad on pool room had weak batteries and only worked half of the time. Hot tub panel was broken so temperature could not be adjusted and was lukewarm at best. In the gameroom the video game screen was broken and pool sticks did not have tips so neither could be used. There were several minor issues such an non-functioning coffee pot and remotes with dead batteries. The main concern was the downstairs sleeper sofa was both dirty on top and moldy underneath. Coming from a medical profession this is a health hazard and should be fixed immediately. There were also several air mattresses but no pumps to inflate them so part of our party had to sleep on the floor. We have stayed in these cabins before and this was our worst experience. For the cost of renting it for a 12 hour period it just seems there shouldn't be this many issues. As a repeat custom I was highly dissatifsfied and am not likely to return.
Property was clean, kitchen stocked, bathrooms and bedrooms oversized, tv in each room, game room and swimming pool area nice. Pull out sofas and airbeds definitely a bonus with children! Outdoor furniture a little dated and needs more towels and blankets on site- otherwise a great stay in a peaceful neighborhood up high on the mountain
The Splash of Moonshine cabin was by far our favorite cabin that we have ever stayed in! The location cannot be beat! The property is located just minutes from restaurants and many attractions. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool so much! There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children. Check in was a breeze and the communication with the hosts was reliable and very helpful. The cabin was very clean. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and the lifelong memories. We will be back!
We absolutely loved our stay here. Great location. Loved that it was the end of the road and not many cabins nearby. Easy to walk the dogs The cabin gave beautiful views. We appreciated the convenience items, the only thing we had to buy were coffee filters. We had fun playing pool, swimming, and hanging out in the hot tub. I do think there may have been an issue with the hot tub as it was set on 103 and couldn't be turned down. Also wish the water pressure was better in the upstairs shower. All-in-all it was a great place to stay and would recommend.
Downstairs toilet completely clogged. Couldn't get Downstairs fireplace to work. Remote for fan upstairs did not work. Was going to get a new battery ourselves but decided not to spend our money. Master bed upstairs was sunken in, husband pulled mattress off and bixsprings and the rails had come off the blocks. Surprised cleaning crew didn't notice it. We immediately knew we couldn't sleep on it so husband fixed it. Had maintenance come next day and fixed fireplace and toilet. He had to replace batteries in door lock as well. Couldn't get heat to work properly so maintenance looked at that as well, found all 3 furnace filters completely stopped up so no air was getting through. There was no plate in the microwave so we had to turn a plate upside down to use it. Notified VRBO and they are supposed to be ordering a new on. Overall was enjoyable but for the amount we were charged a night I really expected better. Pool was great. Internet was good as well. Would stay again as these incidents were somewhat minor but inconvenient.
