This property was wonderful. The house is beautiful as well is the view from the front porch. I really enjoyed the fire pit at night looking up and viewing the stars. It was a quiet and relaxing place for vacation. Wish we could have seen a bear.
This house is perched at the top of a mountain, providing stunning views of the ever-changing smoky mountains. We found it to be very comfortable and was a perfect layout for our group. Thank you!
Great property. Would ise again
Beautiful view of the valley. Amazing sunrises!
My wife and I spent the weekend at this wonderful cabin. All the pictures are accurate and the instructions provided were perfect as well. Highly recommend this cabin.
We were booked to arrive on 12/26. However, the storm of the decade said no. On the evening of our arrival the area received several inches of snow making travel to just about anywhere impossible. The road to the cabin was impassible unless one had a tank. We ended up in several local hotels. On the 27th we were able to make it up the roads to the gorgeous cabin. It was very clean, warm, and complete with amenities as advertised. It's located close to Smokey Mountain NP and allowed for easy access to several hiking trails, waterfalls and Cades Cove. Pigeons Forge and Gatlinburg were within 40 minutes. The week between Christmas and New Years Day was very busy. Gatlinburg and Cades Cove were crowded. Great cabin! Thanks.
This was a beautiful location with the most outstanding view of the sunrise in the morning. Ideal location to go into GSMNP or Cades Cove, Wears Valley, or even in town to Maryville. The location truly is the peaceful side of the Smokies... pace is so much better than Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg. Recommend Dancing Bear for coffee at Apple Valley. Elvira's in Wears Valley for lunch/dinner. Mountain Brothers General Store is our favorite for shopping. Davy Crockett for horseback riding in Townsend too. Enjoy your time & unwind!
The house is located with outstanding views. It was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
We really enjoyed our stay at Shady Maples Lodge! The house is comfortable and well-appointed. We had plenty of space to spread out. A favorite spot was the screened porch on the lower level - and the hot tub, of course. The day we wanted to go to the pool, it was unexpectedly closed, so we weren't able to check that out, but it's nice that it is an option for guests. The location is beautiful, though the road to and from the house is not for the faint of heart. We got the hang of it after a couple trips, and it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the house at all, but it did make it feel like more of a production to go anywhere because of the steep, winding road we had to traverse to get down to town. People accustomed to the mountains would probably not bat an eye, but it took some getting used to for my Midwest crew. All in all, it was a great spot with thoughtful touches and evidence of the owners' care throughout. We would definitely go back.
Our family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shady Maples Lodge! If you're looking for a secluded, beautiful, comfortable vacation home, this is the place! Only one more home beyond this one on a dead end street. We were able to see bears on the property several times in our week long stay. No traffic, very quiet and private. Enjoyed eating meals on the deck, as well as the hot tub and fire pit every evening. The house was generally very clean, with the exception of the carpet upstairs, which shows evidence of much use by many vacationers! But not bad enough to hinder our enjoyment of the home. Have to drive 45 minutes to get to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but nearby Townsend has several opportunities for fun, as well as the pool, which is available to Shady Maples Lodge guests. The drive into Gatlinburg was worth it to us in order to have this beautiful, secluded setting. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
This property was in a great location with a lively view. Down side was a hoard of hornets every evening on the front (view) deck and several that we had to shoo outside. And no ice maker with no notice of no ice for miles. We had a wonderful time though with great mattresses in every room and lots of area around the cabin for the kids to fund critters on a dead end street. Weighing? Go with renting if they can let you know that the very aggressive hornets have been eradicated.
