Smoky Mountain Depot ~ Great Secluded Cabin in a Gated Community

Cabin was beautiful. Clean was a little hard to find

I loved the working train In the roof of the cabin. I loved the view and the luxury amenities including the heated tile floor. The best part is that it was a gated area so very safe and secure.

Perfect cabin in the mountains. Nice and quiet. Had everything we needed. Kids loved the train. Had games and movies to enjoy our cold nights. Short 30 minute access to trails and groceries too. Would definitely come back

The host was very friendly and responsive. The cabin was clean and well kept and was perfect for what we needed.

Beautiful home! Furnished with all the necessities and clean! Just make sure you bring the food and snacks you want with you, don’t go to the house first and then think you’ll go to the store. It’s a long drive up to the house so be prepared but it is worth it!

The home was very clean and well stocked. The shower was great and the beds comfortable. Gorgeous views and very isolated. We have little ones that couldn’t play too much outside because it was quite the drop in the front yard, but our older kids liked to explore. They especially loved the train that runs around the top of the rooms, they were amazed! Very neat feature for any train lover! Be prepared, the drive up is mostly single lane roads when you get off the hwy, it is paved though. We were a little uncomfortable with the drive, but the owner clearly gives directions prior to arriving.

The host was great at communication all throughout the stay! The cabin was very private and secluded, the perfect spot for a weekend getaway from the responsibilities of a hectic life allowing time to unwind. We had a few friendly deer visit the front yard near the porch. The train theme was evident and the real train around the ceiling was a perfect addition. A true gem hidden high in the mountains!

The view from this cabin is spectacular. Unfortunately, there was no outside hot tub, but there is a huge jetted bathtub inside the cabin that was nice. As Mark suggested in his instructions, it is essential to back into the steep driveway. The train was a unique touch and the wood burning fireplace was cozy.

We had a great time staying here. The property was beautiful. The view was unreal, and the house was spacious, clean, and comfortable.It’s definitely tucked away which is really great..

Great cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Smoky Mountain Depot. Our host, Mark, was friendly and quick to respond to our questions. The cabin was spotless and well-appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The view is amazing, and the surroundings are utterly quiet. We spent almost an entire day on the porch just listening to the birds sing and watching the sun and mist rise and set over the mountains. The drive from the main road to and from the cabin was a bit daunting for us flatlanders, but our efforts were well-rewarded with excellent accommodations in a peaceful and secluded setting.

WE love Smoky Mountain Depot. This was our 2nd stay at the cabin and the views, the peaceful privacy, and the outstanding accommodations were wonderful. The road trip to to cabin is quite an adventure and is an exciting part of the overall experience.

Cabin was just as advertised. Bathroom was very new and luxurious. Gas stove was an absolute plus. Very private with beautiful view.

The Smokey Mountain Depot delivered seclusion with a breath taking view! The highlight of our stay was filled with sitting on the porch taking in the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. The accommodations were very comfortable and the attention to detail was definitely noticeable. Our visit to the Smoky Mountains was memorable with our stay at the Depot being among the top of our favorites on our trip.

We had a wonderful stay! Despite the rain, the cabin was cozy and comfortable, and we were extremely pleased with our experience. We truly enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning in the future!

This cabin was amazing for a winter stay! The view was spectacular and we got plenty of snow! The roads were well maintained, just had to be careful on the driveway!

Our family enjoyed our stay at the cabin and we will definitely be coming back. We went the week of Christmas and I had reached out to Mark before the trip. He was quick to respond and very friendly. The model train was a perfect touch to the cabin.

Nice quiet place!

Property is just as described. Quiet, peaceful, view was breathtaking. We had everything we needed for our stay. Only thing I would say is there are 3 cameras on the property that are not in the listing. The one that points directly at the seating on the porch and door was a little off putting. I understand the need for security especially in the remoteness of this cabin! Just wished we it would have been addressed in some way in the listing . I did not contact the owner as it did not effect our stay..

Location is secluded and what feels like deep in the mountains, about 30 or 40 minute drive from Bryson City and national park walks etc. Was easy to get to.The cabin nice and traditional but with modern bath/kitchen etc.Great views over the valley.The train going round the cabin is awesome.

What an absolutely amazing breathtaking view and the ride up was quite breathtaking also LOL. The cabin was everything described and more online. The owners are absolutely amazing at what they have done with this cabin, they have definitely paid attention to all the small details. By the time we got up there it was dark I definitely recommend getting up there in daylight. As scary as it was for the drive I will do it over 100 times beautiful place with a gorgeous view and everything you could ever need or want at the cabin even if you forgot something they thought of all the extras and more. Thank you for sharing such an amazing place with us.

The Smoky Mountain Depot was the most amazing stay for my wife and I. Peaceful, tranquil and beautiful are but a few ways to describe this mountain oasis. Charming and beautifully appointed, this cabin has it all. But best of all was front porch view. Whether sitting in the rocking chair with morning coffee or watching the sun set over the mountain ridges, to watching the stars begin to appear in the sky, every moment was so incredibly special. Additionally, Mark does a wonderful job at prearrival communication, providing extensive information to enhance the stay. You went be disappointed!

Place was very nice. Very well kept. Had lots of extras and most of all was the quiet mountain setting we had our hearts set on.

Absolutely beautiful cabin, no expense spared to get everything just right. You really get the feel of being alone in a mountain- because you are! The view the owner has carved out is mesmerizing, a constant cloud show over the mountains. We were lucky enough to catch a lightning display that was incredible. Owner was awesome too!!

Location great. Cabin great. Everything you could want in cabin.

If your looking for a quite stay this is it. Love the train that goes around the whole house. The heated floors are a plus.
