Stayed Jan 2, 2026Zach and Joel’s Beech Mountain cabin was a great place for our stay. There was plenty of room for our group, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The location was convenient and made it easy to get around. The stairs are definitely a doozy, but we had a wonderful time overall. We would absolutely come back and stay again.

Stayed Oct 13, 2025Perfect place far enough out of town, but close enough to get to town and any needs very quickly. Quiet neighborhood with lots of beautiful wildlife! Hot tub was perfect temp and always in working order. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen very well stocked. We’re a family of six and we had plenty of space for kids to spread out and have their own space, but also large family areas where we could eat together and play games. So many thingsto do right there on the property that our kids were happy to have time back at the house! Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Stayed Aug 6, 2025What a wonderful trip at a wonderful house. It really is not only a relaxing and cozy home, but an architecturally unique experience. Plenty of amenities and a kitchen with more than enough equipment so that we barely went out to eat. We went up to the mountains with very few rigid plans, but honestly cancelled a few of them just so we could relax on the porch or in the hot tub some more. The owners were very communicative and easy to get along with. The location was the perfect middle ground between remote nature and proximity to local spots. Would love to come back here during the ski season, but if you are just looking to get away from it all for a few days then this is a great spot.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025Overall this property wasn’t bad. It wasn’t cleaned when we arrived. There is no air in the home. Zach and Joel brought fans which wasn’t too bad. It was cool at night which helped a little.

Stayed Jul 30, 2025Beautiful area with lots of wild deer in the neighborhood. Fred's Mercantile just down mountain has an excellent breakfast. House was really stuffy and humid upon arrival but cleared up over time with fans, dehumidifiers, and open windows. Recommend owners be more explicit that House does Not have air conditioner for summer rentals. Although the temperature was tolerable, it took 2 days to clear musty smell. Some windows didn't have screens which limited ventilation opportunities. Overall still a good stay for 10 of us.

Stayed Jul 7, 2025We came up to celebrate a birthday, relax, and enjoy some time away. We did everything we set out to do. We made S'mores, the adults played cards upstairs, and the kids played tag outside. The downstairs area was great-- our kids designed bracelets and had enough room for all their little arts, crafts, and gaming. Great place for a larger group.Loves: Two kitchens-- we all make meals and we had enough room to store them! All the variety of juices, waters, etc.. Two fridges to keep us stocked and if you were enjoying the downstairs area you didn't have to run upstairs for a beverage. A wonderful convenience! Enough room to spread out--so nice! Things to keep in mind:Driving: Banner Elk to Beech MTN there tends to be hairpin turns on the last 5 miles or so AWD in Summer is fine. Winter: 4WD Stairs-- there are a lot. Any elderly, toddlers or those with a physical disability definitely want to keep that in mind. A/C- no one has a/c in the mountains so bring some fans to cool down in the Summer.Ski Chalet: It's an older home. Upgrades are being made and still in progress. There is some chipped paint and some splintered wood but overall a great place! All the kids are asking if we can make this a yearly getaway!! We definitely hope to be returning again!!

Stayed Jun 8, 2025My family with 2 tweens, one teen and dog had a great time! The location was 2o minutes into Banner Elk and fun activities. We did Wild Cat Lake, Alpine Coaster, walked Banner Elk and water tubed in Boone. The kids and my husband and I loved the hot tub, pool table and home layout. The home was sticked well with nice extras. We got a work out with the stairs lol We saw lots of Deer each morning and enjoyed quiet time on the top deck. The hosts were very responsive and even left us flashlights. We could tell there was still homes being repaired after last years flood, but none of this took away from our experience. Thx Joel and Zack.

Stayed May 22, 2025Joel was an incredible host. Extremely communicative and helpful. The pictures of this stay don’t do it justice—it’s really a hidden gem. You pull up from a winding breathtaking drive of the surrounding mountains only to be greeted by the most endearing yet fantastical chalet nestled perfectly within a quiet Appalachian neighborhood—10/10 would recommend.

Stayed Jul 18, 2024Traveling with teenagers, they absolutely loved that they had their own space in the downstairs area. They were so thrilled with the pellet ice machine! One small snag with the bathroom light on the top level but otherwise amazing!

Stayed Jul 13, 2024The house was great. The kids had a blast. I will say there is no AC, which I’m sure is not an issue most of the year, but definitely caught us off guard in the middle of July. I missed that it wasn’t listed as an amenity, so I didn’t take off any stars, but just thought it would be worth mentioning. Other wise we had a great time and check in and out was easy enough.
