Cozy place, easy to get to and a quick drive to town but still secluded. Mattresses are all hard and pull out you can feel every spring. Otherwise its an amazing place.
was short and sweet
The cabin is close enough to Helen for easy trips to town. Driveway is a long gravel roadway with enough space for 1 car. Was able to pass one car going opposite direction however must drive slow or risk running into whoever is around the bend.
Awesome experience in this cabin! We really enjoyed the hot tub and making s’mores at the fire pit! The gravel road to the cabin had us thinking we were going the wrong way but once there it was great! We enjoyed the activities in the city and games and movies in the cabin. It was very peaceful, quiet and cozy! The kids even saw several deer which was exciting. I would recommend this cabin.
It was peaceful and lot of room
We had a great time here, gotta say if I am not taking a gravel road to a cabin, I don't want to go, secluded!!! We enjoyed exploring around the cabin with our dogs and a day trip to Helen!!! Would agree with other renters upstairs bed really needs an upgrade, very noisy, but did not affect our sleep!! We highly recommend and will stay again
We had a great time in the cabin. Clean and well stocked. Very secluded. Literally in the woods. We enjoyed every minute there. To not say we have no complaints I believe the downside is the long drive from the paved road and the tight driveway, bud those are details.
Great experience! This was our second time staying at this property. This time was for our 15 yr wedding anniversary. If you are looking for privacy, relaxing , and fun this is it. Close to everything you won't find a better location! We highly recommend this cabin for everyone. We will definitely book it again for another family getaway.
One hour before check-in Vacasa called to say house wasn't ready because maids were missing. We were in grocery store at that time having bought groceries for the 5 days. He said he would call back with news on compensation. I never heard from him again. An hour later miraculously a maid called to say it was ready, Obviously no cleaning had taken place. Extremely dirty-blinds, fan blades, rugs, and hard floors had not been cleaned for a very long time. Beds were as follows 1) bed was so high I had to get a chair to get in . 2) sofa pull-out was nothing but springs, 3) upstairs bed squeeked every time you moved. Rugs had dried up dog poop on them. Driveway and dirt road leading to property is so potholed that your car bottoms out. There was insufficient dishwasher soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, no personal care products. Pans were in pitiful condition. We had family meet us from another state and had already spent $2,000 and were not able to make other accommodations. What a mess, you should be ashamed. Being generous I gave 1 star for all ratings.
I wasn't able to check in until 5 as they were still cleaning. The cabin was still fairly unclean as well even after they cleaned. It was nice escape from the busyness of life with fire place and the directions were helpful as the GPS was way off in directing me there. Nearby great hikes and downtown Helen.
~15 mins from Helen. Many trails nearby. Fire pit, kitchen,, dish-TV, Wi-Fi and solitude made our stay great.
This cabin was in a secluded, quiet location. We had some housekeeping issues, and the mattresses (and upstairs bed itself) need to be replaced. Every person who wrote in the visitors book wrote about the beds. We enjoyed the quiet
Great cabin tucked away in the woods! Cozy and secluded from the neighbors.
We loved our stay at Mountain Oaks! The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The location was beautiful and secluded, all while only being 15 minutes from downtown Helen. It was truly a wooded paradise! The porch was large with lots of seating and the hot tub and fire pit were nice touches. The drive in was about a mile of gravel road with some bumps, and while an SUV is preferred for comfort, our friends were in a 2020 Honda Accord and were able to navigate it just fine (though I would not suggest driving anything lower to the ground than that). We stayed at this cabin during Oktoberfest and would absolutely come back!
The cabin was very nice and relaxing! It was tucked away in the woods for a peaceful stay. We enjoyed the hot tub and the out door seating areas. The only negative we had was that the gas grill had a leak in the hose so we couldn’t grill out. Other than that it was a nice place and I hope we can come stay again!
GPS stoped early trying to find to find cabin tricky but then I found my way. After that everything was fine
Everything was as listed. The pictures were accurate and the house was very clean. Only issue are with the mattress in the loft. It is very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced.
Cottage was beautiful and well equipped for our stay. The grill had a bad line to propane tank so we couldn’t use it. There is a bug situation that management is obviously trying to address. But it wasn’t an issue for us but could be for someone else. Other than those two things we couldn’t be happier. We truly enjoyed our stay and just what we needed.
If you are looking for privacy and quiet place to rest and relax ... but so close to town too....you found it. Clean house .Check in process very easy. Recommended.
Stayed here for four nights with my family. It had all the comforts of home - fully stocked kitchen, two good sized bedrooms and bathrooms, comfy seating in the living room and a washer/dryer plus added features such as the hot tub, outdoor fire pit and fireplace. We did have an issue with the house not being cleaned before we arrived but we reached out to the management company and they were very quick to respond and address the situation. We also had an unwelcome bat loose in the house, but my husband & son were able to remove it. The general location of the house is good - close to Helen and very private in the community. But the road up to the house is as described - gravel and bumpy and could be very hard to find at night, Follow the directions provided by the management company, do not follow GPS. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again.
