Escape to the Trees: A Secluded Woodland Treehouse Experience

Tucked deep in a quiet forest just 10 minutes from Moscow and 20 minutes from Pullman, this one-of-a-kind timber-frame treehouse offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Designed for those who enjoy a slower pace and an adventure, it’s a place to unplug, unwind, and experience life in the trees.

This is not a luxury hotel—it’s a rustic, elevated camping experience. You’ll be immersed inthe natural setting, including changing temperatures and the quiet sounds of the forest. On cooler mornings, you may need to start a fire in the wood stove to warm the space—part of the charm for those who enjoy a hands-on, back-to-basics stay.

Inside, handcrafted timber beams and warm wood details create a cozy and inviting space to relax after a day outdoors. Spend your evenings by the wood stove or step outside to soak in the wood-fired hot tub beneath the stars.

The outdoor shower, set against a natural rock wall, offers a refreshing and unique way to connect with the surroundings. When it’s time to rest, you’ll find a comfortable king bed nestled among the trees.

The camp-style kitchen includes the essentials for preparing simple meals, along with a Blackstone grill for outdoor cooking. Fresh coffee is provided to start your mornings, and in the evenings, you can enjoy a movie on the projector or simply take in the stillness of the forest.

Whether you're here for a quiet getaway, a creative retreat, or time to reconnect with nature, this treehouse offers a memorable experience for those who appreciate simplicity, fresh air, and an adventure.

What to Expect:
• A rustic, elevated camping experience
This is not a hotel. You’ll be staying in a handcrafted treehouse in the woods, with all the sights, sounds, and temperature changes that come with being in nature.

• Hands-on heating
The treehouse is heated with a wood stove. On cooler mornings or evenings, you’ll need to start and maintain a fire to keep the space warm. Fire starters and firewood are provided.

• Seasonal temperatures
Depending on the time of year, it may be cool when you wake up or return in the evening—especially before the fire gets going.

• Immersed in nature
Expect forest sounds, wildlife nearby, insects, and an occasional pine cone bouncing on the roof. That’s part of the experience of being tucked into the trees.

• Simple, camp-style cooking
The kitchen includes the basics and a small tabletop Blackstone grill for outdoor cooking. It’s great for simple meals, not elaborate indoor cooking.

• Outdoor amenities
The hot tub is wood-fired and takes time and effort to heat; the host will make an effort to have it hot when you arrive. The outdoor shower is heated but exposed to the elements.

• Unplugged setting
This is a place to slow down. A small solar system provides power, limited but adequate for essentials like charging cellphones, lights, and a movie. Hairdryers and electric heaters-nope!

• A unique and memorable stay
If you enjoy fresh air, quiet surroundings, and a bit of hands-on living, you’ll likely love it here.

The Treehouse property is really a fun place to stay. The house is constructed around a really large tree. It is somewhat minimalist in its interior, with a small-ish wood stove, a comfy bed, a couch, a hammock chair, and a setup for projecting films onto the wall. It has a wrap-around deck with beautiful views of the sunset. It has a rustic outdoor cooking setup with no refrigerator, a blackstone outdoor cookstove (think camping), a nice tiny sink carved into a wooden slab. One of the highlights is the wood-fired hottub, but be aware that it takes several hours to get it up to temperature... The family will likely try to get it heated before your arrival, but you'll need to continue feeding wood into the snorkel stove to keep it hot. There is also an outdoor shower, which looks really nice and it has a on-demand hot water heater. There is a small solar system that feeds a battery that powers the water pump for the shower. If there is no power, there is no shower, so conserve energy if needed. I was present in the late autumn and there is less electricity being produced and stored. The indoor bathroom is an RV toilet that is adapted to the treehouse. It works great and if you've ever used an RV toilet, you'll know exactly what needs to be done without needing to read the instructions, which are posted for your convenience. Enjoy this treehouse. It is really special.

We had a really wonderful stay in the treehouse for our anniversary. The property is a very unique, with a mixture of indoor/outdoor living. Off the grid and secluded, this is an ideal place to rest and recharge. The hosts provided everything we needed to feel comfortable for the night and were great to work with. The wood fired hot-tub was an extra special treat! We will definitely stay here again when we need a retreat from our daily lives.
