You won’t believe you are only 8 minutes from downtown Nashville when you pull up the driveway to this beautiful retreat. Super secluded on 5 wooded acres, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath log cabin is equally quaint for a romantic getaway and fun for a weekend with your family or close friends.

If you want to get outside and meander through Nashville or check out the state park, just 12 minutes away, there is much to do. Bloomington and the Indiana University campus are under 30 minutes on a scenic drive via IN-45, so your location is perfectly situated for campus visits for any reason. If the weather calls for a little less outdoor adventure, you can sit under the wraparound porch and read a book on the swing, dine on the screened-in porch after preparing a meal in the fully furnished kitchen, play a game, watch TV, or gather with those you are with and take time to catch up on life’s journeys.

There is plenty of space and area for everyone to stretch out and recharge. No matter what your day brings, you will enjoy being able to wind down lounging in the hot tub and sitting around the fire pit at night. Just don’t forget to bring all the fixings for s’mores!

We hope that Deer Dance Log Cabin can be a place where you will want to make special memories year after year. There are many updates happening now and planned for the near future. Internet is now available, but it is totally okay if you disconnect and don’t use it!

In addition to the king and queen beds, there is also a full-sized futon.

Rural Environment Notice
Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring.

These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!

Deer Dance Log Cabin has a fairly steep drive. It is helpful if you have a front-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. When going up the hill, maintain a steady speed; you should not have any problems.

PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: There is a $75 fee per pet. Moondance Vacation Homes proudly donates a portion to the Brown County Humane Society when you bring your pet and pay your pet fee.

All fireplaces are seasonal and available for use from October 1st to April 1st.

ALL EVENTS, DAY GUESTS, AND PARTIES ARE PROHIBITED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. Effective July 1, 2025, the county has raised the innkeepers' tax from 5% to 8%.

We absolutely loved our stay! The porch swing was such a cozy spot, and we were obsessed with how organized and thoughtfully labeled everything was. From the K-cups to the throw blankets, every little detail made it feel so welcoming and perfect. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

The property was great. We loved our stay. We did have an issue with a smell in the downstairs bedroom. We tried air freshener and even a candle. We had to open up the windows. It got a little better after that. Over all we loved the cabin and the area. Thanks

The cabin was in a great location and had all the amenities that were listed and it was extremely clean. Would definitely recommend this cabin and we hope to return for another girls trip.We shopped, hiked in Brown County, ate at some restaurants, enjoyed the bonfire and the hot tub.

My family stayed at this beautiful well kept and clean cabin. Sure the driveway is tricky, but well worth it! We had the best time and my granddaughters were so surprised. Definitely recommend staying here.

This cabin was very clean and adorably decorated (HUGE moose antlers on living room wall). We loved the wrap-around deck complete with swing and rocking chairs and a screened dining area and very nice hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed. The driveway was absolutely NO problem to navigate with our AWD Fusion. You’re smack in the middle of the forest with here. Highly recommend.

Cabin was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. Wooded hillside location is secluded and beautiful. Just my wife and I but can accommodated additional guests. Several small touches included (e.g. all light switches are labeled) that made our stay a breeze. Would definitely book again.

My husband rented this cabin for a long weekend with our dog. Really nice property, very private, well maintained and very clean. We did have some issues getting up the steep drive which had ice and snow on it from recent storms but not much you can do about that. Also, occasional mouse ran across the floor but it is winter in the woods. We would rent this cabin again.

We loved this cabin! It so nicely decorated, especially for Christmas, there was a beautiful decorated tree. The place had everything you may need with a lot of special touches. The wrap around porch is amazing, partially screened. Very private. We had a very peaceful and enjoyable time here. We definitely will come back again. Lastly, it was convenient to downtown Nashville, but well removed from the action. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin!

The cabin is gorgeous, and very well kept. There were a lot of bugs, but that’s expected in a cabin in the woods. The only suggestion I have is to fix the drive where guests have created ruts trying to get up the drive way & have a plug in fan in the downstairs bedroom, most people sleep with a fan, we had a hard time falling asleep. You can hear every footstep from upstairs, I can imagine it would be hard to sleep with a larger group. We loved the cabin & the hot tub. The bed was very comfortable & the host did a great job communicating

This is a very nicely appointed spacious cabin that feels very secluded. This is probably the quietest rental we’ve ever stayed at. Yet, it’s also super close to town (7 min drive). The drive up is pretty steep but once you do it, you realize it’s not so bad. The grounds, though spacious, are also very steep so there’s really no way to walk around/ walk the dog. We ended taking him to a nearby park which was very nice.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Deer Dance. The cabin is just lovely and so cozy. Even though we don't drink coffee, we thought the coffee bar was so cute. The cabin is very private - the only thing we heard was fireworks on the evening of the 4th. The master bedroom carpet needs to be changed, big time. Stains on the floor make this room look like a college spring break hotel room. The rest of the cabin is so tastefully appointment - the carpet is jarring. The upstairs room and bathroom suite is great! You can't hear what's going on downstairs and it's private. ? We took our dogs and there wasn't a lot of grass to walk them on - and it was on the hill. That was a bit tricky.
