We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was a relaxing and comfortable home base for day trips in the Harbor Springs and Petoskey area. The hosts are welcoming and available if needed. The cabin is well-equipped with just about everything you will need for cooking and enjoying your stay…including necessities like bug spray, salt and pepper, utensils, table service, cookware, linen, towels/beach towels, fans, laundry soap and extra touches such as games, supplies for s’mores, juice and muffins for day 1.
Really enjoyed the cabin. The owners were great! It was great chatting with the owner and learning a little local history. He gave us a heads-up about things on the property to be aware of. We needed a couple of things and he was very prompt in getting it to us. They left us muffins and oj(delicious). Stuff for s'mores which unfortunately we didn't have the time(or energy after a long day lol) to take advantage of. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. If I ever make it up that way again, I will try and book the cabin again.
The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed, including beach towels and a washer and dryer. They even left us goodies like wine and s’mores ingredients, fresh muffins and OJ. The owner came over and introduced himself and told us to let him know if we needed anything. He lives next door. The only thing we didn’t anticipate was the distance from the town of Harbor Sptings, about 10 miles. The same for the beaches in H.S. and Petosky. Also the queen bed is so close to the wall that a person can’t get in on the wall side and must climb in from the open side. We are seniors and this was difficult. The huge log bed is not movable, as least by us.
We had the best stay at this cozy cabin in Harbor Springs. It is in the perfect spot to access all that the area has to offer. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Overall it was ok. The property is very old and still needs some work. The kitchen is functional but circa 1975. There is a very persistent musty odor that maybe a dehumidifier would help. Those owner was very responsive fixing a few things. The grill supplied was a Coleman camper grill . I think for the price it needs some upgrades.
We loved this cabin, it was cozy and quiet, a great respite form the city. Location was great - we spent time in Harbor Springs, Petosky, and Mackinac Island. The sunsets were amazing. This was a wonderful property to recharge before the fall.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We were in town for a wedding and needed some overflow space from our family home up in Goodhart. The cabin is a quintessential norther Michigan cabin. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch and the wood framed bed in the main bedroom. The cabin is set back into the woods a bit which makes it feel very secluded on the lot. Our main reason for 4 stars would be the check out process. We were asked to clean the dishes, strip beds, and take the trash out. Not a big deal, but not something we are used to with other rentals.
Please let me start off by saying the owners were fantastic! They greeted us upon arrival and were very friendly. If there was anything we needed, they lived on the property. The owners' dogs on the property came to visit and we loved them! , The kitchen counters, appliances, table, bathroom, and linens were very clean. Everything one would need to stay was provided: soaps, linens, dishes, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. However, when we entered the cabin there was an overwhelming musty smell and at night it felt wet when trying to sleep. I think a de-humidifier would have fixed this. There was a lot of dirt on the floors when we entered also. I had to sweep the cabin before we brought our things in. As I started unpacking, a mouse ran out from under the fridge towards the kitchen table. It visited us a second time. There was no way to lock the side door from the inside (there was a keyless lock entry on this door so anyone with the code could enter). The front door had a lock but all you had to do was push on the door and it would open because the lock did not seat with the door jam. There were no blinds on any of the windows, especially in the bedrooms. Around 10:30 the second night the owners removed the trash and walked their dogs. It would have been nice to be made aware of this before it occurred. They walked directly in front of the kitchen/dining room window and scared my daughter in the process.
We loved our stay. The cabin has everything you need and is in a perfect location.
