Scout’s Hideaway! Modern boho-chic cabin w/views & A/C

Peaceful, quiet, clean, and well maintained family cabin allowed our family and pet to make wonderful memories up in Idyllwild.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We love Idyllwild-Pine Cove and the peace it has to offer.

We just wanted a peaceful getaway in the pines, and that is what we got. Beautiful, quiet area. But be warned--please follow the directions given by the office; don't follow Google maps directions, especially in the dark. They will lead you astray. The cabin, while not super-modern, is very cute and has the conveniences needed (unless you're looking for a TV--but why would you want that?) Living room and dining room area is comfortable, and there is a nice deck to sit and look out and breath the wonderful air. There is a portable AC unit, but during our October stay, the only thing I used was a fan in the bedroom. If you have trouble navigating stairs and have to get up at night, be warned that you'll need to go downstairs to the bathroom. But there is good lighting on the stairs for any nighttime journey. I would say that perhaps check-in paperwork could have been handled at least partly in advance, especially for late check-ins. It was not a problem in our beautiful weather, but on a very cold night, filling out paperwork outside in the dark could be a cold business. But communication with the office was very easy and accomodating.

We loved the little perks like the bird guide and the Spotify playlist. It’s also walking distance to the Donaldson Futuro House, which was a delightful surprise. The kitchen has the basics covered, though no microwave. If you plan to use the grille, make sure you arrive on a day and time that the Fire Department is open, in order to obtain the necessary permit.

The cabin has everything we needed and was very cozy! We hope to return during the Christmas holidays!

It is so close to the main area of Idyllwild but also near to many great trails. Definitely a hidden gem!!

Great staff! Quick response after booking, with all details and docs in the first email. Gabby made it easy to review and sign everything. And Niki gave us complementary tickets to the wine tour when I mentioned it was sold out! Great property! Wonderful wooded setting, privacy, parking on site, tidy, comfortable home with room to relax and savor. We’ll do it again soon!

The house was lovely to stay in, a little hard to locate via Google Maps but we just gave them a call and they helped us out. The views are gorgeous, we loved sitting on the back patio.
