The cabin's location is great. Off main road with a nice tree lined driveway. The cabin is roomy and has nice decorations. The bed was comfortable. The furniture in the living room area was comfortable and homey. The kitchen is a nice size with room to put up a portable table for guest that were invited for supper. The host was easy to communicate with via phone and email and texting. The only thing I wish was different was the space around the toilet. Otherwise the rest of the bathroom was great. Thank you so much for this cabin. We loved it!

Much older than photos depict, moth infestation,Difficulty opening lock without instructions, unable to turn on TV, no dishwasher, towels old and unmatched, old red bathmat. Bathroom floor uneven. Musty odor upon entering. No AC.Kitchen dishes/ utensils unclean, bugs.Town area was wonderful with plenty to do and see. Location of cabin nice. Much updating needs to be done for the price we paid.

We loved the property. It was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay except that it does not have air conditioning. It worked out fine because it did cool off at night and we kept the windows open but it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Other than that, it was perfectly located for our day trips around the area. We would be happy to stay here again!

We loved our stay at the Rustic Roost Log Cabin. The cabin is located 4 miles off the main road. It is peaceful and quite. The road is not paved but easily driven with a car. Along the drive there is a ranch with several Bison. The kitchen had all the amenities. We made breakfast every morning before heading out for our days adventure. Centrally located for trips to the Badlands, Custer State Park, Deadwood, and Mt Rushmore. Only small inconvenience is that the bathroom toilet is wedged in tightly between two walls leaving little room to maneuver.

This property needs some serious attention. Please see the following issues. The main screen door was broken. When you entered the cabin to the porch it smelled like mold, damp stink. The whole cabin smelled horrible. We could not even eat in there due to the horrible taste in our mouths from the moldy stinky smell. No air and 1 fan at 98 degrees and being closed up for who knows how long. We wanted to leave the 1st day there, but stuck it out and ate in town because we couldn't eat in there it made us sick. Some of the windows you had to hold up with sticks the window sills were full of dead flies and the windows were filthy dirty, cobwebs on lights, bathroom ceiling fan not sure how it even worked it was so dirty. All the bedding, towels etc. smelled like old rotten moldy wood. The patio screen was broken. We had to save for a long time for this experience and we had to cut our vacation short by leaving early because we were sick from the smell. Our trip to the Black Hills was fantastic, our stay at Rustic Roost was the worst ever. We had to purchase $30.00 worth of spay and plugins to try and get rid of the stink which did not help. I think we deserve a partial refund for our stay. Had to wash every bit of clothing etc. when we got home the smell was on everything.

Great location which felt secluded but was also a short drive to the highway and centrally located for ease of traveling throughout the Black Hills. The cabin was homey and well stocked for cooking. Frequently saw wildlife - deer, turkeys, and songbirds!

This was the perfect getaway to see the monuments. The cabin is up road, half paved, about 3 miles into the woods. It is located in between Rushmore and Crazyhorse, which was perfect for our short trip. The cabin has a cozy bedroom, comfy bedding, nice shower and fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Living room with movies, games, fireplace, etc. It has a nice big yard, lots of trees and a deer that came and visited us every day. Check in was a breeze, Kathleen was great. Everything was easy, wasn't hard to find the cabin. We would stay here again. Although a little further away, Buffalo safari in Custer was the highlight.

The stay was great! We had several wildlife (deer & turkey) come to the open grass area each day and a turkey that loved sleeping on the front porch. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was a little out of the way but very quiet and peaceful. The bedroom was great as it provided darkness when the sun came up at 5 am (we were not expecting that). Overall, a beautiful area to go on a vacation with lots of things to see. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The area is peaceful and quiet. The cabin was just what we needed to escape from the heat back home and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and all there is to do in the Black Hills.
