Love the cabin very quiet
If you are looking for a quiet get away on the river, this is for you! This rustic cabin is so lovely and surrounded by beautiful lush greenery - Quaking aspens, Pines, and tons of other plants including some lupines. There is a beautiful running creek to the left of the property that feeds into the running river down below which is all easily accessible. There are chairs down by it to hang out on. As far as swimmable, it is not really so easy at the cabin but there are plenty of spots nearby. It is rocky and you will need your river sandals to walk around. There is a walkable trail to the left that goes through the woods along the river. The cabin is cozy and has everything you need. Very dog friendly, there are supplies for you in the mudroom. The deck is new and huge and safe for dogs since it has gates and it looks out onto the river. The only tricky part of this cabin is it easy to miss. Google maps sent us 5 miles past to make a u-turn. There's a highway sign for the landfill that is at the entrance. Don't worry, there is no landfill nearby! The cabin is close to town to get to Safeway, etc and close to the River Run and Tahoe City. What is so great is there is not much light at night and you can see tons of stars at night. We would stay there again for sure! Jackie is a great host and very communicative! Thank you again, Jackie!
This property is perfect if you are looking to ski Palisades, Alpine or Sugar Bowl. High snow pack wall presented some challenges, mainly the tightness of drive way and parking. All in all great spot for a family ski trip
We had a lovely stay at this rustic cabin along the Truckee River. The location is super for skiing at Palisades or enjoying the local trails in the summer. Winter or summer, the views on the Truckee River are wonderfully relaxing. The cabin itself is vintage 70s/80s. This isn’t uncommon for many of the rentals in the area and you’ll want to embrace that as part of the cabin’s charm. On the flip side, this means that fixtures and some appliances haven’t been updated — so you will need to take that all in stride and have some patience. It is clear that the cabin is greatly loved by the owners and they are sharing part of their family history with guests. The owners are wonderful communicators and we felt well-supported by them during our stay for any questions.
This place really takes you back to a simpler time where there was a stronger bond between you and nature. We stayed during the winter and from the snow capped rocks on the river to the valley extending in all directions it really put our souls at ease. But it isn't too far out of the hustle as It was only 10 min up the road to downtown Truckee and all of the ski resorts were easily accessed. We had a good time and would love to see the place in the summer too!
My husband really liked the house and he normally doesn't flip out over the rentals we stay at. Very green and serene, great deck, river view. Comfortable for three people. I don't think any more than four people staying there is a good fit. There is one shower.
This was a beautiful location on the river. Multiple wildflowers, hidden spots to relax, a creek, and a bridge leading to a riverside walking path. The deck was great for our dog- surrounding the rear if the cabin with gates, so safe for pets and kids. The owner was responsive and very helpful. My younger son loved having his own loft upstairs. It is about 5 minutes from Squaw Valley and 20 from Tahoe City, 30-40 from Emerald Bay. Only 2 thing I wished I’d known: it is about an hour from South Lake Tahoe ( my lack of knowledge), and the cabin is along 89, so there is constant traffic noise, though not horrible, it can still be heard from the River.
Charming and clean. Little piece of paradise. The deck and river were great. Easy access to river trail and fishing.
My kids and I stayed in this lovely home in Truckee, the views from the deck are amazingly beautiful and the sound of the river made it a very relaxing mini vacation :)
Great location, right between Truckee and Tahoe City. Communication with the owner was excellent. Had one little issue while we were there and she took care of it immediately!
My family and I found the house to be exactly as described on VRBO and was very clean and well stocked. The only problem we had was locating the residence because you drive down a steep driveway and the house is at the very end. Address signage would have been helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent it again. The views were fantastic of the Truckee River.
We had a beautiful stay at this cozy riverside cabin. The location is magical - so close to the Truckee River, with a little creek running alongside the cabin and into the river to add even more sparkle. The deck is great and there’s a path and footbridge for kids to explore. The location is great - close to Truckee and Palisades. The house really feels like a family home, with old-fashioned decor and an idiosyncratic book collection. There is no cable or streaming, so if you want to watch movies or shows be sure to bring an HDMI cable. Jackie was an exceptionally friendly and helpful host, which really added to the feel of being a guest in a family home. Thanks Jackie, we will be back!
