Beautifully renovated 1940's rustic log cabin retreat on Lake 26 in Danbury, WI. Originally built in 1940 as the main lodge for Idle Wild resort, this historic log cabin will take you back in time for your stay. The entire cabin has been recently renovated to provide for your every comfort and modern convenience. Gather and relax by the lake, on the deck, or in the large screened porch overlooking the crystal clear Lake 26.

The screened in porch connects the (1940) traditional log cabin to the newer (2006) annex. There are four bedrooms, two located in the main cabin with king sized beds. There is a loft with TV and two twin pull-out chairs, a couch, and a futon. Also in the main cabin are one bathroom with tub/shower, a well equipped kitchen, and cozy family/dining room with a wood burning fireplace for the colder months. Vaulted ceilings with beautiful old log cabin charm and a screened in porch and deck. There is even a bench on the porch that converts to a bed for the more adventurous sleeper! Gorgeous views of the lake through the red and white pines.

In the annex addition, accessed by the screened in porch, you will find the third and fourth bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen bed and another with two twin beds and one bunk bed. In addition, the second full bathroom with shower contains a washer and dryer.

Amenities include the use of 3 paddle boards and 2 kayaks in order to explore the 250 acre lake with it's multiple bays to fish or observe the abundant wildlife. The use of a pontoon is also provided with your stay starting Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend. Rental prices reflect included pontoon between those two holiday weekends. Pontoon comes with 8 standard sized life jackets. Please follow WI state law for fishing licenses and wearing life jackets while using any watercraft including paddle boards and kayaks. Lake 26 has great fishing for bass, northerns, muskies, and sunnies.

This cabin is the perfect, rustic, northern WI, experience for the family. The sandy shore is great for swimming & the cabin faces west for beautiful sunsets. For hikers and mountain bike enthusiasts you'll find a wide variety of trails in the area including the 24 mile Bramble Trail just 1/4 mile down the road. Also nearby is the Namekagon river, which is a nationally designated scenic waterway open to kayaking, canoeing or tubing. There is plenty to do in this beautiful area. Golf courses nearby and many bars and restaurants to visit in the close towns of Siren, Webster, Danbury, and Voyager Village. This cabin has everything that you would need for a lake vacation. The kitchen is well stocked, beach towels provided, cribbage boards and playing cards, kayaks and paddleboards, fire pit with chairs, lots of dining table space. The annex layout is really a nice feature and creates a separate living area - we had our grandkids along and couldn't hear a peep in the main cabin. The lake is nice and shallow and the lids had a blast fishing off the dock. There were eagles soaring overhead and loons with babies swimming about. We did have an A/C malfunction one night and the host was great with communication and got a technician there to fix it asap. My family is already asking when they can go back to the cabin.

What an amazing place to stay! The property is absolutely beautiful and the cabin was spotless! We loved the three season porch! The annex addition made it so we were able to have two families stay very comfortably! The pontoon was wonderful, and the kids loved the beach and water toys.

Great stay! Grandma and Grandpa struggled with the 46 steps from dock to deck but the rest of the family was fine with it - even our 3 yo grandson. Loved that the beautiful and clean pontoon boat came wit the rental. May be nack!

My family (husband, myself and two small children), sibling and parents have been coming up to Northwoods WI every Summer since 2020 and haven't stayed at the same place twice. This cabin is definitely worth a repeat visit! The annex addition is wonderful to keep the kids area separate when sleeping. The house is very nicely stocked - kitchen, bath, lake accessories, etc. We loved the use of the kayaks, paddle boards and pontoon!! Having a screened in area was definitely what has been missing from other homes - outdoor/lake vibes without the bugs. The lake area is absolutely perfect - wonderful dock with nice chairs/bench, steps down into crystal clear water and sandy bottom!! We also caught so many fish right off the dock! This cabin was definitely... the one!

We booked this house for a week long family vacation and it did not disappoint. We had seven adults and one infant and had plenty of space for everyone. The screened in patio was our favorite place to hang out. We loved having access to the boat and quick access to the UTV trails. We are already looking forward to coming back next summer!

This was a super cute rustic paradise. Super quiet lake that my family vacationed at for the first 20 years of my life, was great to visit 30 years later. Would definitely recommend.

The property was perfect for multiple families with separate living spaces. Best sunsets I’ve ever seen looking west over the lake. Plenty of activities for kids and adults between the pontoon boat an paddle boards/kayak. Everything was great. We will Definitely try to book this property every year

We had a great long weekend stay! Beautiful cabin, great views, fun on the water, good fishing, Pardun’s canoe rental on the St. Croix- (Jerry’s the best) and beautiful trails! So much to do, lots of nature to see! We will definitely be back. Owners did a great job communicating with us and the place is fully stocked - really enjoyed the cabin esp the front porch.
