Elkins, West Virginia
What used to be a 1950's schoolhouse is now a beautifully-renovated cabin in Revelle's River Resort...welcome to Rainbow 1! Just steps away from the Shaver's Fork River, guests have access to some of the area's greatest trout fishing. In the summertime when the water is high enough, we have tubes for rent. Bring the children and join in on our scheduled activities, which you can view on our website or in the camp store upon arrival.
Screened-in porch with couch and TV, shared hot tub with Rainbow 2 and 3, charcoal grill, firepit, picnic table, two queen beds, queen sofa bed, new full kitchen and bathroom, window AC/strip heat, pellet stove (pellets provided ), 2 cable TV's and WiFi
Guests of Rainbow 1 also have access to our splash pad, restaurant, camping store and more!
Camp store/office is open business hours from April 1-November 1 for any questions or camping needs.
Pet friendly: $30 per night/ per pet. PETS ARE WELCOME BUT MUST BE APPROVED AT TIME OF BOOKING. NO EXCEPTIONS. After 4 guests: $12 per additional adult per night, $6 per additional child per night. Must be 21 years or older with valid ID. Please check into the office/store upon arrival to receive key. We will leave a map on the front office door for late arrivals.
Please keep in mind we are in the middle of a large family campground so this is not private and there will be noise (quiet hours are 10pm). Rainbow 1, 2 and 3 have a large back yard adjoining but have a private grill, fire pit and table. Spring/summer/fall are our busy seasons, while winter is a bit more private.
We are not close to public transportation. There may be an uber from Elkins if necessary (this is not certain).
The cabin was just right for us! My sister and her husband as well as myself and my husband and adult son have plenty of room to be clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the heat from the pellet stove and loved the hot tub every evening! Catherine was the best host ever and extremely responsive to our needs and very helpful telling us the going-on of the area. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! You know we will be back!!!
We enjoyed our stay.... ate a couple nights/mornings at the cabin. Had a fire the last night & grilled hot dogs ... yummy!! Also roasted veggies & apples in foil. Cabin was plenty warm enough. We took the train ride, ate at Scotties diner & Smoke On the Water .... Both were excellent.
We towed our motorcycle to the campground to ride the mountains. It was very beautiful. Plenty of parking. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The cabin was clean, furniture very comfortable. The hot tub was clean and very warm. Fridge and pantry completely empty, which I totally understand. We even needed to get salt and pepper. Over all, we had a great time, no worries!
Great location
Kids loved fishing and even just driving around! Cozy cabin.
The cabin was very clean. The appliances worked well. The shower was updated. The locations is nearby the river in which you could hear while sitting outside. The campground was 20-50 min drive from most of the places we wanted to see. The town of Elkins is 11 miles away which contains shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. I would definitely stay here again.
