Had everything we needed for a nice quiet weekend the hot tub was nice the place was clean. The shower was a rainfall but had little water pressure which made it hard to rinse off shampoo out of hair but other than that everything was great. Still not sure on the pet policy when booked I searched for pet friendly but when I went to pay pet deposit and red the rental agreement it said no pets but when we got there there was pet dishes and the rules on the wall with the checkout instructions had a rule to keep pets off the furniture so wish it was more clear on that issue.
There are a lot of great things about Spirit of the Sky. The location is beautiful, with views of the river and a luscious back yard. I'd love to stay there in the summer or early fall when we could enjoy the outdoor space more. The hot tub, internet, heat, gas fire place, and major kitchen appliances all worked great and contributed to a comfortable stay. The kitchen has some minor disrepair issues: a drawer that has no bottom; a fridge door that swings open all the way to the side of the fridge if you don't stop it with your hand; a coffee maker that didn't work for us (although we found a smaller one in a cupboard that worked great!); and some cupboards that were peeling. The bigger issue for us was the plastic cover on one of the upstairs beds that made a lot of noise when trying to sleep. It was so disruptive for us that we couldn't sleep on it. Fortunately there was a futon available. Not the most comfortable but better than the noisy plastic! We would need to know that the owner had replaced the plastic cover with a traditional mattress pad before booking this property again. The place was clean when we arrived but seemed to be short on towels (no paper towels, one kitchen towel, and barely enough bath towels) until we discovered a plethora of towels in the dryer the day before we left. The cabin was adequate for our needs but has the potential to be amazing with a little more attention to repairs and details.
Great location. However we found that the listing misrepresents how the property looks and actually is. On reflection the photos appear photoshopped. While the cabin was overall clean it became apparent that it was a little uncared for eg the fridge door had lost all its shelving and the door swings open unless held on to. I spent 45 mins cleaning the coffee maker carafe because it was so encrusted with stains. Some of the cooking pans are in a state of disrepair. There was no auto dishwashing liquid left for us. One of the main beds had a mattress cover that was extremely noisy and kept a family member from sleeping well. While these may seem like small matters the cumulative effect was frustrating. The guest contact/owner was easy to reach and responsive, did offer us a refund for the remaining nights if we chose to leave, said the feedback was duly noted. We chose to stay because we had nowhere else to go at short notice and we’re visiting family from out of state. We still managed to enjoy our stay in the area. The yard and hot tub were great. We didn’t use the latter because it was hot weather.
Definitely will book again. Comfy and quiet. Loved hearing adult eagles and their babies.
Stayed over 4th of July. Great spot and easy access to the river. Quiet and nice area when you have little ones. Definitely would stay again. Great spot and the house has window AC units and interior fans which helped as it was in the mid 80s and low 90s while we were there.
I've stayed in the Gold Bar/Index area multiple times for hiking getaways, and this has been my favorite rental by far. Spotlessly clean in and out; comfy bedrooms (one facing the river -- leave the doors open for that river sound that guarantees the best sleep ever); huge, well-equipped kitchen; quiet neighborhood; stunning backyard with great firepit and path down to the river; the newest, cleanest hot tub of any place I've rented in WA state; easy access to great hiking; fast, easy, excellent, communication with the proper manager. 5 stars is too low a rating for this property. I was here with my brother & we had a blast. I will return with my husband, and we'll stay longer.
Perfect for our family of 4 plus dog. Bit of a drive to the slopes, but well worth a ski weekend!
The cabin can easily sleep 9 if 8 are willing to share beds and bedrooms and 1 sleeps on the couch. The house is accurately described. It’s on the river, has a fully equipped kitchen, the hot tub seats 3 comfortably, is near hiking. The only issue we had was with the keyless entry. The cabin has 3 keypads at the front door, 2 are clearly keypads and one looks like a doorbell camera. We contacted the property manager because the code did not work on the keypads. The property manager called us back in about 30 minutes and told us the doorbell camera looking thing was actually the keypad, you have to touch it to activate and light up the touchscreen. I’m not complaining, this was clearly user error and we learned from the situation. We enjoyed the hot tub after doing some nearby hiking. We will book this property again!
This is a great location. Really enjoyed our stay.
Easily one of my favorite places that I’ve stayed. I loved the layout of the house with the back yard, fire pit, and river all at my fingertips. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning in the rooms, kitchen was well stocked with plenty of cookware, etc…. I could go on and on. I felt like it was a great location and somewhere I I would definitely stay again!
Amazing views, awesome new hottub, good beds! fire pit could be replaced and needs deep cleaning in the shower room but over all it was a great stay! Thank you for having us.
