Stayed Jun 21, 2025Nice clean cabin. Everything you need is ready and waiting for you! Nice big table for eating!It did get pretty hot during our stay and the cabin was a bit warm those days. The upstairs has a portable a/c which did help the loft area. Tucked away in a quiet spot but just a short drive up to Mackinaw City. The river was good for fishing and kayaking.

Stayed Sep 25, 2024Overall, this property was perfect for our stay in NE Michigan. Close to everything yet quiet. The river is beautiful, the neighbors are friendly and the cabin has everything you need to enjoy life in NE Michigan. We kayaked the river, had a nice bonfire overlooking the property, sat on the porch and watched the sunset. Breakfast On the blackstone while drinking coffee and soaking in the views was pleasant. Can’t wait to come back,

Stayed Jul 26, 2024Fantastic property. Lots of room and privacy. Great views of Black River and Kayaks to wade out and watch amazing sunsets. Walk to the Black River Grill (.8 miles) for a cold one and great pizza. Place was very clean and well stocked (I think we drank all the coffee). We made some great burgers and chicken on the Blacstone grill. We will be back!

Stayed Jun 16, 2024This was in a perfect location to experience northern Michigan. Located on the black river offered great kayaking and fun fishing. The house was just perfect. My wife has high standards and she absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave.

Stayed Jul 19, 2020Great communication with property owner! Very clean and plenty of room. And had everything we could possibly need. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and hanging out on the river side.

Stayed Jun 25, 2019We ended up booking Joe's Black River Hideaway at the very last minute, when other plans fell through. Nick was very responsive (even when I gave him the wrong check-in date!) The cabin had everything we could ask for. I particularly enjoyed the three-season room, where I spent most of my time, watching the river as I had my coffee in the morning, and watching the sunset in the evening. What a great experience.

Stayed Jun 30, 2018We stayed at the house over the July 4th week with 4 adults and 2 children. The house was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. Beautiful setting right on the river. We brought our boat and kept it at the dock for our stay which made it so convenient. The owner was very responsive and got back to me within minutes during our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway!
