Atlanta, Michigan
Come home to your own piece of heaven in the north woods of Northeastern Michigan Elk Country!
This spectacular white cedar full log cabin/home is nestled amongst a mixture of towering, evergreen pine and hardwoods with your very own beautiful 323' frontage of the Thunder Bay River, designated as a blue-ribbon trout stream, running by the front yard. The cabin/home looks and feels very secluded yet town is just a short walk away. You can grab a kayak from the kayak holder and launch right from the front yard. After a pleasant one hour river float you can get out at the township park.
You can connect with ATV/snowmobile trail #4 and #9 right from the cabin/home at the end of the gravel driveway, and ATV's can be driven on the edge of Montmorency County roads!
A screen room, located next to the woods, gives you additional outdoor space to relax and enjoy watching the birds and animals without them noticing you are there. And then there is that great cabin front porch...where you can sit and rock, or enjoy the porch swing, while watching the ducks, Louie the loon, and other wildlife at the river.
If that's not close enough for you, take a cup of coffee to the dock and enjoy sitting at the river's edge for a closer look at that eagle flying by. You can even catch smallmouth bass right off the dock. Or lay back on the hammocks next to the dock and watch the birds fly over you in the sky. Try not to fall asleep if you can, or go ahead and fall asleep if you want to.
Pull some wood off the firewood shelter and start a campfire in the fire pit. You can sit comfortably around the fire in heavy Adirondack chairs and plan your next adventure while munching on s'mores. Don't worry if the power goes out, (it rarely does), because there is a whole house, bunkhouse and garage generator that automatically turns on if the power goes out and automatically turns off when power is restored. You don't even have to lift a finger!
All this and we haven't even talked about the inside of this stunning custom built "up north" cabin/home which comes completely furnished! Come see it for yourself!
Great property with plenty of room for seven of us. Close enough to town but far enough out. The river there is an amazing setting. Def would stay again.
We had a wonderful time up north at this beautiful log cabin home. We saw otters in the sream, a blue heron flew down to fish for trout. We saw 2 pilated woodpeckers, deer, and heard and were able to get video of a grouse drumming. We took a couple of the kayaks for a ride and sipped our cofffee in the mornings on the porch while watching the birds. Cooked perch we caught at Fletchers over the fire at night. Wonderfully stocked, and clean place to vacation. We will be back with our kids and Grandkids in the Spring. Thank you so much for a great relaxing time!
We loved our stay! Upon arriving I noticed how clean the cabin was. We had everything we needed! Plenty of outdoor seating, a beautiful river that my 8 and 10 year olds loved playing in. It came up to their knees but pretty shallow and perfect for play. The beds are super soft which I loved. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place!
Absolutely wonderful place to stay
Myself and eight girls stayed here and not one of us had a single bad thing to say! It was extremely clean, quiet and succeeded but close enough to town if we needed something and gorgeous. We will all be back!
Bunk House was not cleaned. Blue trash bin was completely full-on arrival and not emptied the entire stay. All bag garbage needed to be transported to beginning of drive way entrance. Fire wood chairs (2) are broken. A bit strange to have previous food left behind in the pantry and refrigerator.
Property was better than expected. With in 1 to 1 1/2 hrs of all the major attractions of Northern michigan. The property was clean and close to market that had everything needed for a nice stay. Wish they had more than 1 bathroom but we managed with 6 adults 3 kids knew this going in.
We had a great stay here! Cabin was just as described. Clean and cozy! Beds were super comfortable! Enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks! Atlanta has a cute coffee shop, Michigan store gift shop and a small farmers market on Saturdays. Convenient to Gaylord, Alpena, and Mackinac Island! Would definitely stay here again!
Home was fully equipped with anything you could need. Plenty of room, great outdoor amenities. Had a great time!
Everything was as advertised and beyond our expectations. We kayaked and had a fire each evening. During the day we would go on fishing excursions closer to Alpena on the river. It was wonderful coming back to cabin each evening. We are hoping to book for next year.
We loved the property, it was out of the way, quiet, beautiful. We made an easy day trip to Mackinaw Island, fished, spent some time on the river kayaking, sat by the campfire, played cards, we just spent time together as a family in a wonderful relaxing setting. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Exactly what we needed. A little slice of paradise just a few hours away. Great to disconnect from city life. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and kayaks. I loved the kitchen!
This house was perfect for our family getaway. It was equipped with everything you can think of. The property manager was awesome at responding to questions! We rode the trails which were conveniently located and we were able to take off from the house!
Loved the privacy
The house was beautiful an the location was too, way back in the woods off the roadway i would say 1/4 mile drivway. We had a little issue with the heat being controlled on nest thermostat woke friday morning 59 degrees never operated one of these, so had no idea to used it, after i call one of the numbers they left there for emergency, as soon i told them about it, they had an app setup on there phone an the heat turn up to 70. It was fine all day friday till Saturday afternoon, an then we went out to dinner that night 3 hrs later we came back an the heat back to 62 again so i text the he or her again about the situation again told them need to take it off the schedule they have set up, an this time i knew how to work it now so i turn it up, took about 1 1/2 hrs to get it back to 70 again. Other than the heat issue everything else was awesome, love the inside of the house especially up stairs. Hopefully the heat doesn't happen to other guests like what we had to experience. We also had a bon fire there too, while it was snowing out that nite, great feeling an hearing the water running down the stream. Thanks Shawn
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It had an open concept making it great for hanging out as a group and playing games. The property was beautiful and secluded but still just a minute or two outside of town
This cabin was a perfect home away from home. It had anything and everything a family could ever need during a stay. The beds were so comfortable, the linens where so cozy and the kitchen was beyond stocked. Jamie was such a great host and handled everything quickly and communicated wonderfully. My family and I will definitely be returning this magical gorgeous cabin in the future.
We had an awesome experience staying at this property. Not only was the cabin super clean and comfortable to stay at, but the owners had multiple snacks, drinks, and food available for our enjoyment. This was a first for us. I wanted to say the biggest thank you for letting us stay at the cabin. We will be coming back in the future.
We were looking for a quiet and peaceful fall getaway, the Cabin fulfilled every aspect. It's a beautiful log home directory on the river, although we didn't use all of the amenities, there is something for everyone. Privacy and quiet are key, but also very close to town if you forgot anything. The host (Jamie) was very attentive and detailed, he provided an easy check in/check out process. We will be back.
