River Chant Lodge - Upper Valley - Hot Tub - On The River - WiFi - Satellite - L

Unfortunately the smoke detector was peeping when we arrived . They had maintenance there to fix it before we had finished unpacking .

The cabin was exactly as it was listed. Everything was great, from the location to the space. 7 adults with room to spare. The cabin was clean and well taken care of. The hot tub worked just fine and you are steps to the river below. My only suggestion would be to remove the ice front of the front door. There was ice melt scattered out but with this area being shaded, it didn't help much. One misstep and someone is getting hurt pretty bad from slipping. We all had to really watch our step because there was no getting around it. I asked about a shovel to remove it myself but was told there was not one. I'd hate for someone to get seriously hurt before something was done about it, this is a nice property. All in all, a great stay.

The property was good - the weather was great!

Great location with constant sounds from the river. Had bear, elk and mule deer to see. Hot water in the house was amazing. The windows in the loft were bolted down which made sleeping in the loft too hot! Wouldn’t put Wi-Fi in the house listing because it’s not reliable and doesn’t work on the bottom level. Hot tub was great with peaceful views. Neighbors are pretty close but it doesn’t really fell like it with the tree buffers.

We rented this property for a family ski trip. It was very close and convenient to the Red River ski resort. We were also able to sled with our kids in the back which was nice. Beautiful scenery in the mountains. Overall it was a decent place to stay but we were disappointed to find the hot tub never worked even after calling maintenance. There was no wifi which made trying to take care of some work issues that came up while we were gone very difficult. Upon arrival the cabin was clean but the roof was leaking. The cleaners had apparently just left the trash can under it and not reported it. So we had a leaky roof and no trash can to use for the first day of our trip which was tough with 8 people in the cabin. Later we discovered another leak in the main floor bedroom closest that effected some clothes that were hanging in there. A lot of appliances around the cabin, especially in the kitchen are poor quality or don’t work at all. So we feel the listing wasn’t quite representative of the actual property. It’s an OK place to stay for a mountain get away but the listing needs to better reflect the property.

Overall I was dissatisfied with the stay at this cabin this time. This was the third time I’ve rented this cabin in the many years I’ve visited Red River and the cabin was not what it use to be. Overall was not clean.. dirty dishes in the cabinets and cobwebs in a lot of places. We had to call to have ice and snow removed from the back deck. The hot tub was not working and we were notified 2 days before our trip. They did give a $200 refund for it not working. Internet was not working during any of the time of our stay. The holding tank full alarm went off constantly. It really could use some updating specifically in the kitchen and a couple of beds. The staff in town that I was able to speak to were nice but just limited in what they could do to help fix the problems. We took a final departure picture of the cabin name .. my grandson was 5 for his first visit and 14 this time. Unfortunately we will be finding new accommodations next year to make new memories at.

All around very nice place. Would stay again!

Overall a great place and would want to stay again. We would recommend a few things: 1. Better and faster internet connection. The router and modem are very dated and the current network is spotty. This would help cater to potential customers looking for a remote work site throughout the year. 2. Update the televisions to smart TVs. This would decrease the clutter in the main room and get rid of the dvds. 3. Get rid of the broken and incomplete kitchen gear. There were four coffee makers and only one worked. The hand mixer was missing the metal extensions. The oven glass front was taken off and we couldn’t use the oven. 3. The limitation on the water storage was a concern. A house that sleeps a large amount of people made everyone nervous about how much water to use. Not very conducive to a vacation setting. 4. The front area should have been cleared of snow and ice on the arrival day and the remaining days is the guests responsibility. Additionally the snow shovel was broken and no gravel/salt available to use to clear entrance. Overall the place is great and we would recommend to friends and family. The views are breathtaking and location is prime. Thanks again!

This is an absolutely wonderful property, the views are splendid, and the cabin is clean and cozy. The pictures definitely don't do the property justice. The river is close by and the hot tub was a huge plus. Will definitely be returning.
