The cabin was as advertised, close proximity to shops and restaurants.

Sometimes five stars just doesn't seem generous enough. We couldn't have asked for more! A very private and secluded location, as advertised, with wonderful western-facing views. The home (unfair to classify it as a cabin) had a wonderful, lived-in vibe, with great character and all the comforts that we could possibly hope for. This is an ideal retreat for a single couple, two couples, or a small family. Close enough to Bryson City for convenience, but remote enough so that you feel immersed in nature. The hot tub was icing on the cake.

The cabin was comfortable and had everything one would need for a long stay. our host was so very gracious and kind, and responded to any messages that were sent. We absolutely loved our stay at Retreat in the Sky, and we hope to make it back. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place.

The cabin was very private, which was something we liked

We had an absolute blast staying at the Retreat in the Sky this year. My friends & I take this yearly cabin trip to attend a car meet, and we created such special memories this year being at Sandy's cabin! Sandy herself was kind and communicative, and their vacation home was maximized coziness, perfect for s'mores, movie nights, sunsets in the hot tub, and plenty more. We're still unsure what next year brings for us four, but if we stay in-state, we'll definitely book again!

Was close to planned activities.

Just 15 minutes outside Bryson City, the Retreat was our most restful stay in many years of travelling. Once you’ve wound your way up through the cove and arrived at the house, the mountains are your personal domain. Views go on forever, uninterrupted by the lights and noise of civilization. There is just one lone cell tower in the distance, with a gentle, slow blink … blink; white in the day, red at night.A full width deck faces out to the southwest view, with lots of seating options. Perfect for morning coffee, pastel sunsets, and stargazing. Or, just sit inside and open the doors to let the mountain breezes flow through. Lots of natural wood in the interior, windows all the way up for maximum scenery, houseplants of many varieties, and a goodly number of bears, tiny figurines to large stuffed. Fireplace in front of a sleep-inducing sofa … any cat tendencies in your nature will emerge on a sunlit afternoon. I feel a nap coming on just thinking about it. Or, for a more thorough sleep, there is a bedroom downstairs and another in the loft, which is perfect for waking up to look at the tops of clouds … or maybe it’s just valley mist … one can dream, don’t you think? Kitchen has everything you need to throw together a gourmet meal (or some simple comfort food). Ingles grocery is just 10 minutes away on the near side of town. The screened-in porch has more comfy seating and the hot tub (yay!). Definitely works to soak away your cares and worries. We will go back soon.

What a wonderful time at The Retreat in the Sky! Convenient to Bryson City, NOC, Andrews Rail Bikes, etc. We kayaked, hiked, relaxed, and soaked in the mountain air. Great host who went out of her way to make our stay outstanding!

Very comfortable and cozy cabin with awesome mountain views. It was an adventure just getting up and down the mountain.

The location has a great view of the Smokie Mountains especially the sunsets. It was so peaceful and relaxing which made it so easy to relax which is just what we wanted.

My daughter and I wanted time to unplug and get away from everything and boy did Sandy deliver! The first thing you need to know is that the house is at the very TOP of the mountain and the road is steep. We arrived after dark and Sandy stayed on the phone to help us navigate the terrain and make sure we were safe. She was absolutely fabulous! The house has lots of space and decor is fun. We enjoyed opening the doors and hearing all the nature sounds. Very quiet and peaceful. Great view and incredible hot tub! If you want to “go” and “do”, or go for a walk, you’re going to have to go down the mountain, a short drive. We’ll be back.

Clean, secluded, yet not far from town with a beautiful view!Host was attentive to any questions and the home was well stocked and very clean. The beds were comfortable which is usually my biggest disappointment with a STR. 5 Stars

The cabin was perfect for us. We loved it as soon as we walked in. It is decorated beautifully and is homey and inviting. Loved the view, the privacy, and the peace. This is a place to restore your soul and renew your spirit. And the host, Sandy, was always reachable and nice to talk to. We are looking forward to spending another week in October. Thank you for sharing your home. We love it.

If you are looking for a place with a view, calmness and a hot tub than you have found it! The entire stay I felt like I was visiting family (who just happened to not be in the space with me). The home is decorated so adorably and cozy. The view (in late February) brings a calmness to the property and I found myself trying to find ways to enjoy the deck even though it was only a high of 50 during my stay. The hot tub took some time to heat since there had not been a prior guest to my visit, but the host informed me of this before my arrival to make sure I was aware. So thoughtful! Everything felt clean and the bed was comfortable. Be sure to check out the photo album that shows the cabin being built... So cool! look forward to returning when flowers are blooming!

We had a great time during our weekend stay here. The view from the cabin is amazing, and the drive up there is not bad at all. The host, Sandy, is very communicative and even allowed early check-in and late check-out for us. The cabin feels very homey, and has everything needed for a great vacation including books, games, firepit (indoor and outdoor), kitchen utensils, condiments, and of course, the covered hot tub! The location is very close to Bryson city and deep creek area where there are many hiking opportunities.

Wonderful experience! Tricky getting up there with a truck but doable. Views are stunning! No matter what the weather conditions are,its consistently picture perfect! Hot tub was such a treat with the crisp evenings. Downtown bryson very short distance from cabin, very convenient for shopping. Took Sandy's advice for the perfect scenic route and so glad we did, excellent recommendation! The cabin had everything we neededand then some! We were so lucky we got to experience it all decorated for Christmas. We cant wait to go back, thank you do much!

The cabin was very homey and comfortable. The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. The view was amazing.

Property was exactly as described. Very private with a great view! Wake up to looking at the mountains. Kitchen was well stocked and the owner was great at communicating! Would definitely recommend and stay here again

Sandy was so great to work with! The cabin was very homey, clean, and had everything we needed for a great stay. The view of the mountains was exceptional!! It was so nice to come in after a day of hiking, ziplining, and shopping to have the hot tub waiting to soak our tired muscles in.

Everything was just as listed if not better. Me and my wife celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and could not have pick a better mountain cabin. Hope to come back soon and see snow !
