Quiet Truckee Retreat w/ Deck, 5 Mi to Donner Lake

Bedding, couches smelled very dusty and had my entire family sneezing for the majority of our stay. There was a locked room that made my family uneasy not knowing what was behind the locked door.

Stayed over Xmas. Rented house for my 80+ mom and niece as my house was too small for everyone. Heavy snow year, so a lot of digging. Elements, the snow removal company (for driveway only) is not that great, so we had to move a lot of snow. I live in Truckee year round, have a Honda 928 snowblower and know how to deal with winter so everything worked out with some work. The house itself does not have a shovel that we could locate. If I were coming from the Bay Area, I wouldn't have been able to access the house without buying shovels and digging it out. If I didn't own snow removal equipment, it would have been unuseable. Not for someone not willing to dig if you come in winter when there are going to be storms. Property manager said Sorry for the inconvenience the one time they replied.

Comfortable and clean. Close to hiking, includes pools, tennis, golf club access as well as a top notch Lodge restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.

The location was great, enjoyed all the walking trails. Was very disappointed with the cleanliness. There were spider webs on the kitchen cabinets, the bathroom walls had mildew on them, my reading glasses fell off the nightstand, when I reached to get them it was disgusting with an inch of dust and spider webs. The light switch for the nightstand light was all dirty, I took before and after pictures from cleaning. When I pay a cleaning fee I don't expect to have to come in and clean before I can touch anything.

We enjoyed our stay. Cozy cabin, just as listed. The wood burning stove heated the cabin very well. We saw deer just out the back door. Location was perfect. No WiFi, but it was good to unplug.

Very good , the only thing bad I could say is that there was beer bottles outside the back door . I think the people before use forgot to put in the garbage can out front. They were still there when we left , you might want to tell the cleaners to check out there . We had a good time , Thank You .

All was cozy. Just wished the ad would have stated that there was no hot tub on the premises. Other than that, all was comfortable. The owners were easily accessible and attentive to our questions and needs.

Perfect for 1 or 2 couples or small family. Well stocked with necessities.

Very nice will come back

Upon arrival there was no water on and no instructions where to turn on. Had to call to get this. The 2nd bedroom bed did not have full sheeting. Just a bottom sheet and we had to search for a sheet (found in mstr. BR closet) to finish making bed. The base heating unit in family room area (dinning room side) did not work and the living room side had toys, etc. stacked up next to it. Should have had instructions on how the wood burning heater worked and where the wood was stored. We purchased 4 cu. ft. until I found other wood. Other than this the location was perfect and street access to property was good. The kitchen cooking ware did not seem to be adequate, but we ate out except one night anyway.
